Then again, Casio’s G-Shock GBD-H1000 is comically massive and, in white-and-neon-green guise, borderline garish.
Pretty hard to “do some research” under those circumstances. After wearing the Garmin Tactix Delta sapphire Solar for a month I really couldn’t understand anyone in their right mind, who would pick a G-shock over Garmin, if they really need the features. It’s like prefering to own a black and white TV with no remote in 2021.
That’s the biggest reason I’ve kept it despite all of its flaws. It’s a typical G-Shock in terms of construction and ruggedness. There were issues right from the start but it’s such a cool watch that I kept on hoping that Casio would actually do something about them. Sadly, after more than six months and many attempts to get their attention they still haven’t addressed a single issue with the watch so I’m moving on to a Garmin. After six months I can say the GBD-H1000 is a pretty cool watch on it’s own, with a few issues, but it relies on a horrible app that ruins everything. The end result is a complete fail from the standpoint of trying to use this watch for what it’s designed for.
The screen visibility is excellent and I like how they’ve laid out the various screens. Really nothing to complain about from a physical standpoint. I find the menus and functions fairly straightforward to use, it didn’t take me long to figure it all out.

The interface is unintuitive, with a cumbersome system that only allows users to scroll one way through readouts. Despite the size of its case, the G-Shock’s screen is a little too small for the amount g shock protection of data it displays, while the lack of customisation options is a shame.
