With no touchscreen, commanding the Casio is a five-button affair. Though the firmness of these textured physical inputs is reassuring while running, the functions can be befuddling. Even following the flow diagram in the user guide, you’ll spend a while grappling with the way the button roles change from mode to mode.
If you want the sports tracking function, other brands make better choices. I bought this watch just because of the technology being introduced. As such, I may not be the best person to give a review on the functionalities. If you are interested to know more, there are a number of detailed reviews which you can find on the web to satisfy your interest. You can also link your tracked measurements for display and use within apps provided by STRAVA, Google fit and Apple Health. Programmed interval workouts are a pretty handy feature for a running watch. However, you can’t use them while tracking a workout with GPS.

I’m not sure what the exact criteria are are for qualifying as Tough Solar, and I’m just going by what Casio said (or didn’t say) about the watch so far. On its Tough Solar page, Casio says it is capable of converting various light sources, such as sunlight and fluorescent lamps. Stable function operation, A large-capacity battery with power saving function, and g shock protection the ability the charge under low light are also mentioned. I’m not entirely sure why the Rangeman GPR-B1000 is listed as Tough Solar, but the GBD-H1000 has not been designated as such. It might have to do with the capacity of the rechargeable battery, as the GPR lasts about 29 months on a full charge with power saving on, while the GBD lasts about 12 months.

I’ve put in multiple support requests to Casio over the past months about this, all they need to do is add the ability within the app to export the .tcx file that the watch creates. I was a big G-Shock fan and I was looking for a good GPS watch. The “BAR” value indicates the number of atmospheres to which water resistance is ensured.
