2021 Giant Tcr Advanced Pro 1 Disc

Designed by British maverick inventor Mike Burrows, the ‘Total Compact Road’ has been a regular fixture in the pro peloton since the 1990s. On the road it’s just stunning – an exhilarating and exciting ride that gives you everything a high-quality race bike should. It feels efficient, accelerates rapidly and rewards strong efforts by easily retaining its speed. Giant’s wind tunnel testing included a mannequin, spinning wheels and bikes holding two bottles and cages each.

Thanks to its low weight, the bike climbs the steepest of slopes very efficiently and proudly demonstrates its climbing prowess. Whether you’re in or out of the saddle, the TCR reliably holds its line and seeks out the next mountain pass to climb. giant ROAD BIKES That aggressive character was very well balanced by the control and ride quality. The bike handled sharply yet had a reassuring stability on fast descents, and I had a few eye-widening moments when I happened to glance down at my speed.

The Variant seatpost adds just enough compliance to give it a balanced, race-tuned feel on the road. And with its integrated disc-brake technology, including flat mounts and 12mm front and rear thru-axles, it’s an all-weather, all-conditions race machine to keep you at the front of the pack. Reengineered with updated aerodynamic tube shaping in the headtube, downtube and fork, plus added clearance for giant KIDS BIKES larger diameter tyres , the new TCR Advanced Disc delivers outstanding on-the-road efficiency. Combining lightweight composite frame engineering with strategic aero tube shaping and integrated disc brakes, the new TCR Advanced Disc series delivers versatile road racing performance. The most efficient race bikes have the perfect balance of light weight, stiffness and smooth compliance on the road.

The short wheelbase explains why the TCR charges through tight turns and, if need be, is ready to set itself up for a second tight turn. The headset feels in line with the belly instead of the sternum. One beautiful aesthtic feature about the TCR is the plunging top tube – its line squeezing the seat post and splits into the seat stays. We discovered this when admiring the metallic flaked blue paint on a sunny outing. The frame and fork are stiff, an incredible firmness offered by Giant.

There are more than 500 pieces of woven carbon used throughout the frameset, compared to the 2020 model’s 380. The most advanced steerer tube technology in today’s Giant bikes. Designed to offer unprecedented front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/2” lower, 1 1/4” upper) and tapered steerer tube work in harmony to provide supreme steering stiffness. This proprietary seatpost design offers the perfect balance of light weight, superior ride quality, aerodynamics and easy saddle installation and adjustment. The scale may surprise weight fiends out there when we say the bike was measured with titanium cages, pedals, rear light, and computer mount. Despite having those accessories, the Giant TCR in size medium shocked us by barely scaling over seventeen pounds.

It’s a carbon fiber road bike, in matte carbon with a smoke, orange and blue finish. Giant had a very difficult task of updating its top of the range road racing frame by making it lighter, stiffer and more aerodynamic. To support the frame stiffness a new fork has been developed too and is also looking sturdier than previous model. The fork arms have leaving plenty of space for air to flow between the the arms and the spokes. Giant calls it a Symmetric design fork and this decrease Air drag as a result.

It puts in an exceptional performance and is well worth the money. The short saddle is great, thanks to both the shape and the padding. Comfortable enough – if anything, a little more comfortable than the TCR Advanced SL Disc.

With regard to the bike’s light weight, the company is also proud to assert the TCR’s dominance over the Specialized S-Works Tarmac Disc, Trek Emonda SLR Disc, and Cervélo R5 Disc. And though stiffness and stiffness-to-weight claims are harder to verify, Giant assumes victory over those categories, as well. It is also the first TCR to be developed in a wind tunnel, helping it to take a major leap forward in aerodynamic performance with a claimed 140g shaved from the entire frameset .
