The answer, I think, is in how this watch wears, which is really unlike any other G-Shock I’ve strapped to my wrist. The blackout GA A1 is still sold out everywhere, but more stock is expected in the coming months, and we will make a new post when it is available. Some of these models may be more readily available in some countries in regions like Southeast Asia, but beware of fakes at unauthorized shops and online. Also, there are some online scams involving the GA A1 and other popular G-Shock models, where some e-commerce websites end up shipping a completely different model. Stick with reputable authorized retailers and avoid unknown stores. While the GA-2100 has more of the original G-Shock DNA in its style than some other recent models like the GA-2000, it is also a subdued style that has a mainstream appeal.
Two years ago I had on a mechanical watch for my season debut on the road and crashed in a roundabout at 30mph. That watch needed a re-casing, but the Casioak can take some punishment and, if too damaged, just pop on another shroud and strap set. So how does this sub-$100 watch manage to charm like the best of them? The case is 11.8mm tall, and even more, it wraps around the wrist in a way that makes it feel even thinner.

There are other functions like the 31 countries’ timezone, with an accuracy of (+-)15 seconds of time accuracy. the only point that got me mesmerized was that in such a thin how could anyone add so many functions? If you plan on, using the actual functions of the watch like the timer or stopwatch you could be waiting a while to get going.
The GA-2100 does that in spades, and at a price point where this small luxury won’t be painful. Well, for me, it has something to do with it’s unapologetic brashness as a statement watch. They get a lot of heat from enthusiasts because they rose to popularity with the endorsement of pop culture figures, athletes, rappers, and the like, representing something like a “real” Royal Oak but for less discerning, younger tastes. Unfortunately, most of the affordable analog G-Shock watches do not have the seconds hand, but the more expensive ones do.
This is not a tactical watch and I’m not recommending it as a tool, I’m recommending it solely and exclusively as a design object. A new carbon core guard structure protects the module by enclosing it in a carbon case. The case is made of fine resin embedded with carbon fibers for outstanding strength and crack resistance. Evidence for imports from the Indus to Ur can be found g shock watch from around 2350 BC. Its plastic case is practically weightless if you’re used to wearing an even a modestly proportioned 316L case. By design, the strap is angled down so that there’s little room at any point between the 48.5mm case and the watch. There’s something else notable about the case, and that’s the Carbon Core Guard tech that’s incorporated. The case is constructed with a thin layer of carbon fiber in order to bolster its strength so the overall amount of material used in the case can be decreased, without sacrificing any sort of material strength. The Carbon Core Guard doesn’t change the feeling on the wrist, but it does inspire a sense of confidence that the watch would be fine even if it were run over by a car. There’s a reason why G-Shocks are often worn by military and law enforcement personnel.
