Men’s Minimalist Watch Ga2100
The Sumerians were great creators, nothing proving this more than their art. Sumerian artifacts show great detail and ornamentation, with fine semi-precious stones imported from other lands, such as lapis lazuli, marble, and diorite, and precious metals like hammered g shock watch gold, incorporated into the design. The most widespread material in Sumer was clay, as a result many Sumerina objects are made of clay. Metals such as gold, silver, copper, and bronze, along with shells and gemstones, were used for the finest sculpture and inlays.
On top of all of that, these models come with Casio’s standard 200m water resistance, shock resistance, and full range of digital watch functions like stopwatch, countdown timer and alarms. Another day, another Casioak, and back to the jelly goodness of the GA-2100SKE-7AER. It’s remarkable how these references, while identical, change personality with both context and activity, and what better sports watch than a G-Shock if, like me, you don’t fancy a huge Garmin. I’m a dad, so 60-mile rides are not possible, it’s a case of exhausting yourself on mile hard sprint runs to make it back for dinner. The clear Casioak sits super-light on the wrist, and while the mobile is stuck in my back pocket for Strava to record my futile attempts at an early season personal best, the easy legibility of the monochrome dial is a delight. Once home, you can click off the strap in one minute if you want to give it a thorough rinse after that sweaty ride.
They later released a more 90s throwback range that are black with purple/blue and green/red. The dial of G-Shock GA-2100 is classic in many senses, but still comes with a few unique layout features. The office is not the office anymore, and while we might long for suiting up again to impress colleagues with our sharp taste in tailoring, this is not the time. The now discontinued two/tone grey G-Shock g shock protection GA-2100ET-8A matches damn well with some grey cotton sweatpants, strategically worn with a more formal navy merino knit for those Zoom meetings. For a G-Shock, it feels slender at 45mm and with a short 48.5mm lug to lug and no weight, it’s a perfect daily wearer. The bonus is the clever world time mode allowing me to keep up with the editorial team in Melbourne while being locked down here in Norway.
Personally, I find the GA A1 to be a fine daily watch, but only if I’m using it for the sole purpose of telling the time. If I need to use the digital functions or need to check the time at night a lot, then I would prefer to use another G-Shock. (Other GA-2100 models would be better suited for nighttime use than the GA A1.) For me, the GA-2100 could never be my only watch, but I’m happy to have baby g shock it as part of my small collection. The use of the Carbon Core Guard structure allows the GA-2100 to be the slimmest G-Shock of all current models. The height and width of the watch is considered mid-size, rather than the large size of most analog G-Shock watches, and the watch wears very light and comfortably. The GA-2100 is currently the lightest analog-digital G-Shock model at 51 grams.
And of course it lights up by pressing the clearly labeled “light” button at 2 o’clock. The ancient Sumerian king list includes the early dynasties of several prominent cities from this period. The first set of names on the list is of kings said to have reigned before a major flood occurred. These early names may be fictional, and include some legendary and mythological figures, such as Alulim and Dumizid. Dial / watch face of the GA A Casio GShockIn the detail of the dial on the GA A you can see how the white indices and the hands really pop on the dark background. The all black and all red models will be slightly more difficult to read but still legible.
