Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a single pivot bike and we’ve ridden some great ones. It really comes down to getting that single main swing-arm pivot in the right spot to gain the performance characteristics that the designer is chasing. While it’s not hard to find a sub-$2,000 giant ROAD BIKES dually, they are definitely at the lower end of the ‘genuinely off-road-worthy’ MTB market. Attempting to shoehorn in all of the suspension components whilst simultaneously keeping the price down is a real juggling act, and it often results in an end product that’s heavily compromised.

If you’re beginner to intermediate, this bike is suprisingly good for it’s cost. If you’re planning on sending off huge jumps at your local bike park, it riding very fast rough downhill singletrack look for something else. BUT if you want a casual bike that can climb and have loads if fun shredding downhill sections, maybe this is for you. It’s not a $3000 bike, but still very functional and fun for someone looking to improve their skills.
It’s super obnoxious when you’re trying to keep up with other riders or powering up hill. A hardtail however will be robust and light at the same price point, and it’ll probably have more durable running gear too. I called my local bike shop and they quoted me $10 for resizing the seat tube. Most people on the forums throwing shade on this bike have never ridden it.
