It is a bit dated, but in a classic sense of the word. My only caveat is that the tobacco note is somewhere between the raw dried leaf and smoked cigarette smell. It becomes more evident on clothes as the day goes by.
If there was 1 scent that I would want to smell like, regardless of day, time, season or circumstance, it would be this one. ultra-hyper masculinity in a bottle. The handsome, fit, complete and versatile man. A traditional man, a loyal man, a good father and a loving husband. Picked up a decant of this from Perfume.com, and have worn it 3-4 times.
Performance wise it is a beast for me. I find that applying some Vaseline on the area and then spraying helps longevity as well (good for your skin, too!). However, I’m youngish so my experience has been positive since most of my peers don’t remember or weren’t around for the 70s or 80s and haven’t smelled this.

Will be appreciated by people with classic tastes. it is very classy , slightly offensive but it makes you feel that you are very rich because of the tobacco notes. I like it soo much .It is one of the top 5 of more than 200+ perfumes I have smelled. I’m apprehensive about bashing this one (but I will- it’s forthcoming) because it’s such a well loved classic. It comes from a different era when fragrances were bolder and you got more bang for your buck. But I gotta tell ya, this stuff is polarizing!
I love it but you have to be in the right mood and the right state of mind for this, a old school swagger. It defiantly has a wisened gentlemanly feel too it. Like a old library or cigar bar or antique store kind of vibe. Heavy on the pine needles, and a almost burnt out, tar like campfire smell.
