I was lazy and we didn’t keep our older griddler as clean as we could. I bought waffle plates tonie with it an decided what the heck, buy another griddler. I had couple of instances where the old ones heating controls were suspect.
Avoid using metal utensils or abrasive cleaners on the nonstick cooking plates and use the included cleaning/scraping tool to safely clean any remaining food residue. The plates are removable, and we washed by hand and in the dishwasher and got good results both ways. It just comes with two plates, they are reversible, cuisinart griddler elite grill on one side, griddle on the other. They sell waffle plates as well, but they cost almost as much as the grill did, so we didn’t buy them.
