Polo By Ralph Lauren For Men

Because I had smelled this before and didn’t realize I would recognize it, my first recent application felt like surrealistic time traveling to childhood. Even though newer versions are weaker, the rich leathery pine smell is still classic and classy. There is no more iconic bottle in all of perfumery. Today it is quite disliked as feminine fragrances like Dior Homme Intense an Parfum rule the day.

Either the bottle now is diluted or my memory has diluted. Either way, I do enjoy it now but wish it can be the strong green beast-like in my memory. Polo is here for fans of beautiful, eternal things. Its name awakens association with a closed circle of the chosen and this circle has its rules and traditions. As a truly masculine perfume, Polo does not contain floral notes, apart from camomile, which has more grassy than floral scent. The opening of the composition is green and fresh, made of grassy notes of artemisia, basil and thyme, with spicy notes of cumin, coriander and cloves.

I think every man should own a bottle of this and Aramis. It is simply a CLASSIC ,mature, clean, strong but a common and dated fragrance. I enjoy it very much but I try not to wear this if i’m in a romantic scenario as it just smells too predictable and accessible. I’ve heard that the new formulation is much better, w/ more leather and pine, better note-separation and improved longevity. I just scored a 16oz bottle of this great fragrance in an auction for 80$ and it’s the WarnerLauren juice WOW!!

The satchel bag I have still has the paper surrounding the shoulder strap tucked under the flap, and it looks brand new. The scent has definitely changed over the years, and I am fortunate to still have a Cosmair 4oz spray and 8oz splash that I will never use up, because I have so many other fragrances in my collection now. However, when I want to go back in time to the greatest green, leathery, mossy performance beast of my young adulthood, I reach for this classic. I haven’t tried the most recent formulation.

Real man’s scent and defo not like the blue scents. Smelling this again after 30 years. The first time was 16 years old stealing a sniff from dad’s bottle and recalling it was extremely ralph lauren t shirt strong and pungent. 30 years later finally acquired a bottle of my own and it smells different than my memory. Light pine, light tobacco, light oakmoss, light leather, Chypre style.
