U S. Polo Assn. Polo Shirts

Light pine, light tobacco, light oakmoss, light leather, Chypre style. Either the bottle now is diluted or my memory has diluted. Either way, I do enjoy it now but wish it can be the strong green beast-like in my memory. Polo jeans clothing often features a logo of a polo player on a horse.

Smelling this for the first time was like meeting someone and feeling you had known them your whole life. This resonated with me far more than any other fragrance and I now have almost 50. This is No.1 and only the original Givenchy Gentleman comes remotely close.

It is one of my favorites, and what I think of when I heard the term cologne. I just never really have a good chance to wear it, and can’t think of any good situations that Polo would fit. Who could have imagined that a lighthearted bet would morph into a men’s classic? In 1977, a young Ralph Lauren was challenged by his sensei, Lei Kazuma Kiryuu, to produce a fragrance that would transport the wearer to the men’s room of a Shaolin temple. Lauren reportedly laughed off the idea, but eventually bet Kiryuu a sack of turnips that he could do just that.

This is a very good fragrance and a grown-up classic for sure. There is very little out there today that smells like this. But that being said, Polo is a classic. Hopefully, it will stay around for a long, long time. Workplaces and society in general are less tolerant of fragrances than they used to be.

I still have several of those bags in the classic green canvas to this day. I used the canvas briefcase for my first job out of college ralph lauren t shirt in 1984. The satchel bag I have still has the paper surrounding the shoulder strap tucked under the flap, and it looks brand new.

I don’t know of any fragrance that actually smell close to it though. Nothing to add but this is the epitome of masculine men’s fragrance. I never wore this on a regular basis in the past but I believe the recently Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt purchased bottle I have, though true to what I remember, has the overall heft and base notes dialed back. It still lasts well and seems more versatile now to me. Redolent of pine trees and stale cigarette butts.

In 1977 Ralph Lauren Corporation introduced a signature cotton mesh polo shirt in various colours, featuring the polo player logo on the chest. It’s a masterpiece, I love this scent. First time I wore this fragrance about 30 years ago. It opens with green strong notes after 3 hours, it changes like leather and dry tobacco. Polo green is one of the best fragrance in my collection. Still smells great but unfortunately for me my stepfather still wears this and I have a hard time wearing this and feeling like it’s my own.

Probably the most classic and the most masculine of all men’s fragrances. I’m only surprised that according to the pyramid, the pine needle and leather notes are in the mid-section, polo dress shirts as I feel as though I get a blast of them instantly. That combination, to my nose, are what this perfume is all about – super-fresh pine modified by a soothing, rich brown leather.

If anything this cologne gets the most positive reaction from younger women out of all my colognes. Not exactly “sexy” positive, but “unique” positive, in a good way. All you need is the ’78 Firebird and to unbutton your shirt revealing a hairy chest to complete the picture. I will most likely give an update in the future, maybe on 6 months when I’ve got a more solid opinion, but I have a feeling I’m only going to like this fragrance more.
