If there was 1 scent that I would want to smell like, regardless of day, time, season or circumstance, it would be this one. ultra-hyper masculinity in a bottle. The handsome, fit, complete and versatile man. A traditional man, a loyal man, a good father and a loving husband. Picked up a decant of this from Perfume.com, and have worn it 3-4 times.

If nothing else, worth having in the collection simply to spray yourself and smell it while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vintage Cosmair Polo is by far the king of all fragrances to me alone I suppose. I purchased my first bottle in 1982 and I couldn’t get enough of it. Mind blowing good, everyone wore it and the ladies liked it too.

But it suits an older man best I think, so not quite for me yet. I can’t compare it to the original as I’m only thirty, I get mixed reviews from people but me and my Mrs love it. I mainly wear this as an everyday cologne outside of work/office settings. It is my signature scent and although I’ve seen mixed comments about the formula changing, it seems similar to me.

I wore it uninterrupted throughout my twenties. It now evokes so many memories when I wear it now I just sink into nostalgia. Woody, green, but floral at the same time. It starts bright, leaving trails of grass and moss, before drying into leather and Patchouli, which for me is its dominant note.

There is not a shred of femininity in this bad boy. Those easily offended or wishing to smell like a lollipop need not apply here; you can continue to share your perfume with females. This isn’t a “panty dropper”, those do not exist. but it will sure draw in the ladies who are looking for someone with confidence and warmth. Wear this around the holidays, by the fireplace, in a cozy place, etc. Go easy on the trigger and be yourself.

Those woods are wet and mossy from the constant fall rain and drizzle, capturing the misty cool morning and the decaying leaves on the ground. This is leafy and dry tobacco rolled up with a bunch of Asian spices just off the ship from Portuguese and Dutch traders back from Malaysia and Indonesia. Italians, Germans and Brits until Polo unleashed this dirty frontiersman like woody monster on the buying public. Do you like warm spice, earthy tobacco, muddy roots, green and damp decaying woods in the late evening just a few degrees above freezing? Polo is one of the few that can truly handle the Paul Bunyan like giants of masculinity on earth without restraining that inner-beast inside.

Soon the tobacco joins – I’ve heard some saying it smells like a cigarette ash tray – I don’t mind. The drydown is dark – heavy leather with woods and tobacco but still with pine note infused. Smells like being bashed around the head with a pine branch. The first fragrance I’ve loved rather than just liked, before I was pretty disillusioned with what was on offer wrt modern fragrances, I think I might favour the older ones. The opening is quite harsh and reminds me of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. I get mainly a synthetic pine note that seems to become more natural smelling as the fragrance evolves.

As a truly masculine perfume, Polo does not contain floral notes, apart from camomile, which has more grassy than floral scent. The opening of the composition is green and fresh, made of grassy notes of artemisia, basil and thyme, with spicy notes of cumin, coriander and cloves. The heart is strong and masculine as conifer woods, decorated with notes of patchouli, oakmoss and vetiver. The base contains leather, tobacco and thyme, which create a wonderful, intensive trail.

The solid color might be subtle, but the tailoring is noticeable to those that get true style. Refined and sleek, this classic was made to impress. A scent polo dress shirts with a strong, spiced woodsy concentration that offers a burst of flavor. Most likely to people who haven´t ever inhaled British Sterling or Canoe.

20 years later she still swears that she remembers me with this perfume. It’s still her favourite, though I now own a lot of perfumes her eyes light up whenever i wear this one. Today’s version of Polo Green only lasts about 2 hours on me and polo dress shirts then it’s a skin scent. The OG lasted for 12 or more hours and it still projected and had great silage through the day. A fragrance born the same year as me, ended up being my very first cologne that made me say hey, I need this in my life.
