Photoshop used to take approx 2 mins to open, now approx 20 secs. Illustrator used to take approx 2.5 mins, now opens in approx 25 secs. I had to pull very hard and it did unseat the locking clamp that holds the ribbon cable to the board, but it was easy to push down gtx 1090 the clamp and plug in the SSD. You will need to order a data transfer cable ($4 e-Bay) to be able to run Samsung’s data transfer app. I went from a 500gb HDD that was at 95% capacity to a 1tb SSD. it won’t let me post details but please see the attached photo.
Samsung has updated its EVO line of mainstream SATA SSDs with the 860. The new SSD sees a very slight bump in performance and better endurance. The drive has a new controller and leverages intelligent TurboWrite technology to squeeze out quoted speeds of 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write. The 860 EVO comes in capacities ranging from 250GB to 4TB with the upper end model coming out at $100 USD less MSRP than the 850 EVO did a year ago. For this test, we’re using a collection of test data that consists of large and small files ranged from 4GB to 100GB to see how well the SSD can handle these files when it’s filled up to 96% of its maximum capacity.
