They are extremely easy to secure to the car and the adjustable base is very convenient as the child grows. Pay attention to the rear-facing angle indicator on the car seat to ensure you have installed the seat at the correct angle. This is generally around 45 degrees but consult your car seat’s manual to be sure. This carseat is exactly what I was looking for! It fits perfectly in my car and my baby is very comfortable in it. He is very tall for a 6 month old, so it was great to find a seat that was going to be secure but still allow hin the extra leg room he needs.
A British study found that a minimum of 4 years is even better. As always with any forward-facing installation, don’t forget to use the top tether regardless of whether you install the Extend2Fit using the seat belt or lower LATCH strap. It’s comfortable, easy to install, and affordable. Perfect for my toddler and I love the extend feet feature. Little bit intimidating about installation by juts reading the manual so I suggest just watch a you tube video about how to install and is easier than reading the manual.

Make sure the straps are not twisted to get the tightest fit. While the middle of the back seat is considered the safest location, some vehicles are only compatible with the LATCH system on the side seats. Another customer suggested sliding the chest clip down to the crotch buckle, then tighten the straps, and then slide the chest clip back into position. At 17 months your son should still be rear-facing. Forward facing before 2 is incredibly dangerous. The extend2fit is specifically made for extended rear-facing. I would imagine that your son looks that way because the extend2fit only allows for a few recline options when forward facing under 40 lbs. Chances are you have it reclined to a setting that Graco does not allow.
