Amd Ryzen 7 3700x Eight

Coming from an i7-6700K to the 3900x yes it is indeed a lot faster but only for importing/exporting and to be honest I was expecting more power, but the problem is NOT the CPU, the software is the bottleneck. Seeing as the 5900x has also the best price to performance ratio of the current amd 5xxx lineup, the choice gtx 1080 8gb is pretty obvious . Because of it´s exceptional value it is unfortunately also the CPU that is the hardest to get, it´s demand is just really high. IMO the upgrade is only worth considering if you also go with a higher core count CPU. Otherwise there isn´t a big enough performance jump to make it worth your money.

There technically aren’t any budget-friendly X570 motherboards, but this ASUS board is one that would suit someone who wants the latest chipset features on a more basic platform. It’s got a lot going for it, too, with metal heatsinks for the VRMs and other high-quality components. The B550 chipset is a little less advanced than the X570, but it’s still worth considering for a new build. This board from ASRock supports Ryzen 3000 and 5000 series CPUs and provides enough features even to allow you to overclock.

Essentially, this processor has a grand total of 36MB of Cache, which AMD lumps together as ‘GameCache’. This GameCache isn’t anything entirely new, but it does show that this will help boost gaming performance in some cases – especially in older 1080p esports games. However, while Zen and Zen+ CPUs often offered better bang for your buck in multi-threaded content creation, Zen 2 is off the charts. The Ryzen X has essentially made every desktop CPU up to 16 cores – be it Intel Core X or AMD Threadripper, redundant for high-end desktop content creation. As further evidence of this, I’ve grabbed some quick numbers for the Threadripper 2950X, Core i9-7900X and Core i9-9980XE to see how they fare in Cinebench above. This leads me to one conclusion – the Ryzen X 16-core CPU is very likely going to make every single current desktop processor redundant in multi-threaded performance.

However, if you’re looking for the perfect Mini-ITX motherboard to pair with your Ryzen X, this is the one to get. Focused on gamers, the ASUS ROG Strix X570-I Gaming combinded with the Ryzen X and a gtx 1080 8gb solid GPU is uncompromising on performance and handles all modern games with ease, while looking stylish decked out in RGB LEDs. It also stays cooler than most other motherboards in the 570X class.

We recorded a maximum power consumption of 86.6 W during our stress test, but our review unit could not consistently maintain this. AMD’s Ryzen 3000-series CPUs impress through a heady combination of excellent performance, restrained power consumption, decent pricing, and solid motherboard support. Overall the new Ryzen 3000 series delivers and the improvements in power efficiency are nothing short of amazing. OnLogic will ship anywhere in the U.S., Canada and, at its discretion and under specific terms, to other international destinations.

The Wraith Prism cooled our review unit effectively during our CB R15 Multi 64Bit loop, with our test system finishing around 10 points shy of its original score. The scores fluctuated between 2,056 and 2,091 points during our loop, but this is not overly concerning. The Ryzen X averaged 2,075 points, which is less than 20 points from its best score of 2,092. Incidentally, the processor scored almost 300 points more than its predecessor, an improvement of approximately 16%. AMD kindly supplied us with the CPUs, motherboard, RAM and SSDs for this system.

I don’ use anything else but LR and the GPU is the last thing LR uses and instead RAM and very very fast SSD is what it likes, and the CPU is usually running at 100%. As Morris has said a GPU upgrade might be worthwhile if the software can use the GPU. Because of Covid, I’m not traveling, and that’s most of my shooting.
