I’m very excited to see the new technology Graco has built into this car seat. This technology fills a much needed void in safety which is a car seat capable of holding up to 50 pounds in a rear facing position and this does it well. As a nanny I have much experience in car seats and can say this car seat graco booster seat is also super easy to use and has new great features making it even safer. It’s been proven the safest position for a baby/toddler in a car seat is rear facing up to age 2 or as long as the seat allows which is the problem. Most children are too large to fit in the seat in a rear facing position.
Check your manual but you should definitely consider rear-facing until a minimum of 4 years old. Seat belt installation rear-facing is where you might struggle. The belt path is smaller than it is in the forward-facing position, so threading it can be challenging.
This seat has some tricky recline rules that could possibly affect that. When in rear facing, it should only be used in recline positions 1 – 4. Also, if you’re using a seat belt installation, that can make tightening the harness with the one-pull tightener more difficult. It’s easier because if you have the car seat leg room extended, you have more room to work and don’t have to try and cram your poor hand behind the seat and hope for the best. It’s a little bit more challenging because the seatbelt installation is a little bit smaller than other convertible car seats. This makes it somewhat difficult to thread the belt through.
Unique Patented ClickTight feature to ensure easy and hassle-free installation. While the Graco Extend2Fit has higher than average weight and size specifications, it still fits most standard vehicles. With its easy and quick installation, It is also fairly easy to move between vehicles. Graco’s Simply Safe Adjust Harness System ensures that your child is secure and comfortable. Suitable for infants, toddlers and young children weighing up to 65lbs. For those unexpected spills, explosive diapers and the dreaded throw-up, the washable seat cover can be removed without removing the harness.
The button is under the seat cover and a little hard to get to. The manual does describe how to do it but to me it was not clear. And another thing I don’t like is that it looks like the graco booster seat seat cover will be hard to remove to wash it. But again the manual shows step by step instructions so it should not be too hard. Now, most parents will fall in the second category.
