Cuisinart
Each recipe was repeated twice in each machine using the same ingredients in the same amounts across all brands. Here’s how it all shook out and my recommendation for the three best food processors available, which we update periodically. The Cuisinart FP-13DGM Elemental 13 Cup Food Processor and Dicing Kit didn’t chop cuisinart pots and pans set as evenly as our picks. Our testers were impressed with the dicing kit, which chopped firm vegetables like potatoes and carrots into even cubes. However, since this was the only task this model excelled at, we don’t think it’s best for most people. The motor on the Elemental was noisy, and the base is very lightweight.
Just pour a few scoops in and pulse, tilting the processor occasionally to make sure all the beans move into the blade. The four buttons have a rubberized cover, so they’re easy to wipe clean—no knobs or nooks that can collect food—and feature illuminating blue LED lights. Choose high, low, off, or pulse to make your salsa as smooth or chunky as you like. The wide-mouth tube features small, medium, and large pushers, and the brand’s proprietary SealTight Advantage System activates a super-tight seal on the bowl and locks the blade. It’s fast and easy to assemble thanks to a twist-free design, and is full of smart features, like a hinged lid and built-in disc storage. Our favorite Cuisinart food processor comes with several handy attachments that provide a range of possibilities in the kitchen.
It also comes with two feeding tubes (again, you can select the option you’d prefer for the job at hand). The machine is quick and powerful, speeding up dinner’s arrival on the table. Since it’s quite large, it might not be a good option if you only have limited counter space.
“If a recipe calls for minced aromatics, like garlic, ginger or shallots, let the food processor do the work for you.” It’s not the largest processor you’ll find, but the 10-cup bowl is large enough for prepping family dinners and it’s easy to empty if you need to shred multiple batches for your famous coleslaw. This classic, no frills food processor has a 7-cup capacity work bowl and single paddle control for easy operation. The best way to ensure your Cuisinart food processor has a long lifespan is to take proper care of it.
I have spent countless hours chopping, cutting, slicing, kneading, grinding, and shredding ingredients in my kitchen. After Cuisinart hired industrial designer Marc Harrison in the 1970s to design many new products and improve other designs, many of the company’s products became associated with Universal design. Harrison made its products more functional for users with disabilities, designing larger cuisinart griddler elite fonts so that people with vision problems could see them. There are so many ways to use a food processor—even for simple tasks, when you might think of reaching for the knife instead. Just take it from Nicki Sizemore, author of “The Food Processor Family Cookbook” and From Scratch Fast. Chopping vegetables by hand might take 10 minutes, while it only takes seconds in a food processor, Sizemore says.
