Men’s Polo Ralph Lauren Products

I love Polo, but I would not consider this a very safe or crowd pleasing scent. This was what my dad wore when I was a kid. I associate it with my dad which is why it feels like an ‘old’ fragrance, but it definitely is dated regardless of that association. I feel limited wearing this as a lot of people I come into contact with don’t like it. Friends that have smelled it often have a face of disgust and say that it smells like a grandpa, or that it is strong, but I rarely have experienced someone actually liking it.

I wouldn’t recommend for every day use. Starting more than 40 years ago with a tie collection, Ralph Lauren never envisioned boundaries. Today’s Polo Ralph Lauren Big and Tall Clothing and Accessories Collection is absolute proof of how his incomparable designs evolved into beloved classics. From iconic Polo knit shirts and sport shirts to timeless sport coats, pants and jeans, along with belts, socks, shoes and more, discover a complete Polo Ralph Lauren wardrobe.

Every colleague he’s worked with or student he has taught forever associates him with the scent that remains long after he has left the room. Despite the reformulations through the years and new Polo flankers he insists on his green bottle that to him represents the ultimate man’s man, the ideal gentleman in every sense of the word. You need to be an old school manly man to wear this. I actually find the smell offensive, and I don’t like it, which is exactly the desired effect I think.

Light pine, light tobacco, light oakmoss, light leather, Chypre style. Either the bottle now is diluted or my memory has diluted. Either way, I do enjoy it now but wish it can be the strong green beast-like in my memory. Polo jeans clothing often features a logo of a polo player on a horse.

Not saying similar but it takes you on a journey. I’ll admit I don’t like the first phase of this that much and putting your nose right up to where it’s sprayed isn’t pleasant, it’s the cloud it surrounds you in that makes people take notice. I’ve heard that the new formulation is much better, w/ more leather and pine, better note-separation and improved longevity. It’s not a timeless scent, it is a very specific to its time scent, and that time is gone . This said, I would never ever wear this.

I much prefer Encre Noire by Lalique for example, when it comes to forest-smelling colognes. A classic as other people have stated . My father wore this scent so I have memories associated with polo original. It’s a heavy hitter and should be worn properly . definitely for a burly and confident man to wear . I’ve gotten a couple compliments from this fragrance and also love it myself .

This scent still insinuates instant credibility and faux sophistication upon even the most banal and superficially unsophisticated older men. A work of art in its capturing of the alpine forest and a timeless classic original. Nobody should be without this one in their arsenal, as it simply has first rate longevity and character. One of the five most important colognes of the 20th century.

From 1962 to 1964 he served in the United States Army and left to work briefly for Brooks Brothers as a sales assistant before becoming a salesman for a tie company. The Ralph Lauren Corporation started in 1967 with men’s ties. At 28 years old, Lauren worked for the tie manufacturer Beau Brummell, where he convinced the company’s president to let him start his own line. Lauren attended day school followed by the Manhattan Talmudical Academy, before eventually graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1957.

I don’t know of any fragrance that actually smell close to it though. Nothing to add but this is the epitome of masculine men’s fragrance. I never wore this on a regular basis in the past but I believe the recently purchased bottle I have, though true to what I remember, has the overall heft and base notes dialed back. It still lasts well and seems more versatile now to me. Redolent of pine trees and stale cigarette butts.

I still have several of those bags in the classic green canvas to this day. I used the canvas briefcase for my first job out of college Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt in 1984. The satchel bag I have still has the paper surrounding the shoulder strap tucked under the flap, and it looks brand new.
