Cuisinart Coffee Center 12
It’s fully programmable and boasts every convenient feature available in modern coffee making technology. It is fully programmable for up to 24 hours and is self-cleaning. It has a built-in metal filter that is both convenient and easier to clean than a traditional paper filter. This model has a brew-strength control setting which allows a regular brew, or the option to dial it up for a bolder flavor. It includes a large, insulated glass carafe with 14 cup capacity, with the option to purchase a stainless steel thermal carafe.
You can adjust the amount of coffee you use based on your taste and based on the strength of the beans you’re using. If brewing a 12-cup pot, for example, add 12 level tablespoons of coffee. Grinding beans fresh makes fresher-tasting coffee, but buying beans that are already ground can ensure the proper consistency and cuts out the hassle of grinding them yourself. Contrary to what you may have been taught, keeping beans or ground coffee in the freezer does not keep them fresh.
For those days when you need a single cup to wake you up before you drive the kids to school, there’s a single-cup brewer that works with K-cups or your own reusable coffee filter. You even have your choice of 3 different cup sizes so you can down a small dose at home or take a travel mug with you. This Cuisinart can also deliver a 12-cup carafe that’s great for when you’re hosting a weekend brunch or book club meeting. The DCC-3200 also features a “showerhead” method of percolation. Cheaper models often just have one spigot for the heated water to drip onto the grounds.
It can take a little while to get to know the ins and outs of a new coffee maker. Each drip coffee maker we test brews roughly 65 cups by the time our engineers are through with it, and brewing is just one of many aspects we evaluate. We test for handling and convenience, too, so you can choose a model that helps you sail through morning madness. You’ll pay a premium for a model with a thermal carafe. If you entertain a lot, such a model is worth the extra dollars, as you can bring the carafe to the table, where it will keep coffee hot for second cups.
When buying a coffee maker, durability is one of the first things to look for. Coffee makers by Cuisinart have a reputation for being exceptionally well made, I lean towards the stainless steel models as they are the sturdiest and most durable. You can expect your cuisinart pots and pans set to last between 3-5 years.
