The pool does not come with a maintenance kit so we had to purchase one for skimming and vacuuming. We chose the Intex Deluxe pool maintenance kit, which intex frame pool connects to the built-in filtration system. The kit also comes with a scrub brush to clean the sides and a skimmer to clean debris from the surface.
Don’t let the convenience or its potentially temporary installation fool you. Intex pools have all the same needs as the fanciest rooftop retreat or humblest suburban “cement pond.” Regular maintenance keeps Intex pools in prime condition. Instead of all-around legs, these pools use a snap-on frame that provides support where it’s needed most without taking up extra space.
Don’t just toss an inflatable castle into the water and declare yourself Lord Fancypants, King of Summer. You can improve performance and make caring for your pool easier with a few strategic additions and modifications. If your pool has a ladder, remove it, let it dry completely, and store it in a safe place. For 10 ft. and 12 ft. (3.7 m) pools, insert the Inlet and Outlet plug into the fitting from inside of the pool, using the provided plug. Clean and completely dry all pool accessories before storage.
Many Intex models come with a ground cloth to lay down before you set up the pool, which helps protect the vinyl. If your pool doesn’t come with a ground cloth, you can purchase one separately or use a heavy-duty tarp instead. All Intex pools are fairly easy to install, but you can set up some more quickly than others. The inflatable styles are the easiest to set up because you only have to inflate the top ring, which takes a matter of minutes.
The frame is easy to assemble, with frame parts that snap together and can be put together in 60 minutes. The 110 to 120V cartridge filter pump has a flow rate of 2,100 gallons per hour, while the Hydro Aeration Technology offers exceptional filtration and water clarity. There’s plenty of room in this sharp-looking, generously sized pool for several people to lounge on rafts. It’s made of steel and has a durable three-ply liner to prevent punctures, plus it comes with a cartridge filter pump.
Since these pools come in many sizes, look up the suggested run time in your owner’s manual. If you decide to store the pool outside over the winter, you should drain the pool below the inlet and outlet ports and remove both the hoses and filtration system. Add winterizing chemicals and cover the pool if desired. Once the ground was ready, assembly only took us an hour or two. It’s possible with two people, but it helps to have three or four.
The filter unit comes mostly assembled, so we just had to attach the hoses and then add (#20 silica) sand. Of course, we needed an electrical source to power the filter pump—one that was positioned to avoid being soaked by water from the pool. There is a ground-fault circuit interrupter, or GFCI, on the pump to prevent electrocution.

This frame type will suit big families where both adults and kids love to take a regular swim. The materials of this ultra XTR frame and liner stayed the same. However, the tubes and the whole construction were adjusted for the capacity and shape. We don’t have T-joints but have an easy lock system for quick assemble. However, please mind that such a tremendous reservoir requires about an hour to install.
