Cuisinart Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill Review

Featuring an attractive exterior and helpful measurement markings, you can efficiently prepare the exact amount of coffee beans you need – up to 18 cups at once. For a few bucks more than the price of a blade grinder, you can get a superior cup of coffee from your drip-machine. At the risk of sounding like a cheesy advertisement — get it on Amazon, and you’ll never go back to a blade grinder. We should point out that since this burr grinder is all-plastic, and is prone to static. This means that fine coffee dust tends to stick to the coffee dispensing chute and the top of the grounds bin. The grinder also comes with a cleaning brush, which is nifty but no different than using a toothbrush.

The Cuisinart Supreme is the most affordable burr grinder that we tested. If burr grinders were always superior to blade grinders then we’d be pretty excited about the price on this item, but our tests show that this is not always the case. The Supreme Grind comes at a bargain price but it also comes with a host of significant inconveniences. We’re certain that any buyer would encounter similar disappointment.

The Oxo burr coffee grinder can grind fine enough to be used as an espresso grinder in a pinch. The stainless steel Oxo coffee grinding machine can also produce coffee grounds coarse enough for brewing a cup of siphon, French press and cold brew. Other pros are that the Oxo Brew is easy to clean and creates less of a mess when grinding than other grinders.

The noise and mess this machine created was hard to match and very hard to justify paying for—even with such a low price. Thus, the Cuosinart DBM-8’s quality and consistency of grind are not comparable to that of an entry-level conical burr grinder like the Capresso Infinity. If you aren’t interested in extraction rate, coffee-to-water ratio, ideal brewing temperature, etc., Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill will make you happy. Its grind quality is superior to blade grinders, and grinding coffee fresh will always make a better brew. The grounds seem to be more consistent from a medium to fine setting, which is expected of a lower-end model. Those who would use this exclusively for a French press or another brewing method using coarse grinds would be better-suited upgrading or looking for a manual burr grinder.

This is one of the cheapest burr grinders on the market, so expecting it to last for years is a bit of a stretch. With a little bit of regular maintenance, you might be able to get a couple of years of use out of it. However, it doesn’t even come close to the sturdiness of some of the best burr grinders. The DBM-8 is a budget-friendly, entry-level grinder that has the added benefit of being fitted with burr mill instead of blades. We really like this grinder as it makes the process of grinding your beans fresh extremely approachable.

The machine also created the most consistently sized grounds of all the machines I tested. The Breville boasts 60 settings, and it comes with adapters for espresso machine portafilters. If you like brewing siphon, French press or cold brew though, consider looking elsewhere. Even at its most coarse, this coffee bean grinder’s grounds are too fine for those methods. Discover the difference that freshly ground beans make to your coffee, with the Supreme Grind™ Automatic Burr Mill! The elegant brushed stainless steel Cuisinart burr mill boasts 18 levels to grind your coffee beans, from ultra-fine to extra-coarse.

With an automatic stop, your beans are guaranteed to be consistently ground to the right grade, maximizing the oils, aromas, and flavors for a better cup of coffee. Grind enough coffee to make 4-18 cups, and store any remaining grounds in the chamber. To get the desired amount of coffee grounds, the Supreme cuisinart pots and pans set Grind can be set to grind between 4 and 18 cups. The coffee grinder automatically stops once the selected amount of coffee has been ground. The Cuisinart Supreme Grind coffee grinder also has safety features that prevent it from operating without the bean hopper or grounds container in place.
