In late 2018, Casio introduced the newest addition to the G-Shock Rangeman series of models. The GPR-B1000 is a GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor model which relies on GPS and atomic time keeping in order to keep perfect time. The battery is either charged by solar cells present on the face of the watch or via a wireless charger supplied with the watch, a first for a Casio watch. Due to unprecedented global demand for this limited edition collaboration model, we have decided to release the One Piece model in the fairest way possible.
In June, 2020, Casio announced the release of a new addition to the G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The GA-110JOP has been developed in collaboration with ONE PIECE, a popular Japanese TV anime series. Based on the GA-110, popular g shock watch in worldwide, the new GA-110JOP also sports a big watch case. Using black as the base color, the entire watch is emblazoned with dynamic illustrations of the main character, Monkey D. Luffy, who is growing and becoming stronger.

By 1998, Casio had released more than 200 different G-Shock models, with worldwide sales at 19 million units. The new model comes in a special package along with a combined “G-SHOCK × ONE PIECE” logo on the case back. This represents the X-shaped scar on Luffy’s chest, and also expresses the One Piece love of adventure and treasure hunting. I’m just gonna come clean and say that I’ve never been a fan of the GA-110 ana-digi series.
The band and bezel of this model is illustrated with images of Monkey D. Luffy, the main protagonist of ONE PIECE. The hand of the indicator dial at 9 o’clock has a hat motif that is similar to the hat worn by the Luffy character. This new special collaboration model captures the essence of the spirit of G-SHOCK’s constant and unending evolution and innovation. ONE PIECE is a hit Japanese teen manga series by Eiichiro Oda published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

With its release in 1997, the manga series quickly gained a following and then debuted as a TV anime series in 1999. The watch band depicts a comic strip of the hero’s signature battle poses as he embarks on an adventure to new worlds through a symbolic color palette of alternating streaks of black, white and red. The new model features a “G-SHOCK x ONE PIECE” logo on the case back and comes in a special package designed specifically for the collaboration.
For example when the hands point to number 2 and 4, you’ll notice Luffy’s facial scar starts to appear, there’s a “Wanted” sign displayed at 3. This watch is water and shock resistant, practical and sturdy enough for outdoors use. One more thing though, since it’s a special edition watch for Japan, the instructions are also in Japanese. These models were released in 1996, designed and specifically made for the surfing market. These models were the very first G-Shock watches to have a countdown timer. The countdown timers on these models were designed to count down for surfing competitions, some of the later models have a yacht timer, moon and tide graphs so a surfer can keep track of the progress while competing on the water.
