Table Saws
Since the World’s First FLEXVOLT® cordless table saw was introduced, DEWALT has revolutionized the world of cordless construction tools. Every aspect of our table saws are designed to make your job easier. Dewalt has refined the DW745’s design, most notably improving the blade guard and safety measures. What dewalt tools stands out about the DW745 is its rack-and-pinion rip fence that moves along telescoping rails at the front and rear of the table. This means that once the fence is set square, it should stay square. However, the DeWalt’s maximum width for a rip cut is 16 inches, compared to 18 inches for the Bosch.
We measured saw RPM’s and Amps for each of the cutting materials under constant feed rates. Patented material support, can be used for narrow rip cuts. I am a flooring contractor that installs mostly wood and tile, so my needs when it comes to a table saw are going to be different from those of you with large shops that require bigger saws. So today, I’m going to briefly tell you my thoughts from my perspective of the Dewalt DW745 job site table saw.
The standard Rousseau fence doubles as a great router fence, too. November 19, 2011A NEW Bosch GTS1031 table saw is much, much better dewalt tools than DeWalt DW 745. The Bosch is all metal, there is no cheap plastic like on DeWalt saw.And the weight of Bosch saw just 52 lb.
One of the things we looked at was the ease of assembly out of the box. We had the same person assemble each of the saws and timed the assembly to see if there are any significant differences between the models. The assembly dewalt tools time for the saws ranged from 21 minutes to 48 minutes. While some stands required more than twice the time, we felt the assembly time was not a significant enough factor to change someone’s mind on which saw to purchase.
But woodwork perhaps was made most famous in the Bible, where Noah’s efforts at building the ark over the course of 120 years were documented in detail. A handheld saw is great, but when you want to tackle more serious projects, a table saw is a must for your workshop. You’ll find once you have one, even smaller cuts are quicker and easier than trying to deal with securing and cutting using a handheld. If you need to move your table from job site to job site, this portable table saw is a great option.
We adjusted each saw after checking the blade/fence measurements and had no issues getting them adjusted . We don’t do long term testing in this type of article as it’s simply not feasible…so making a statement about whether the saw holds those adjustments isn’t feasible. We evaluated the fences and ranked them in the ergonomics section, we even did lateral load testing on them as part of that ranking. Below is a graph showing the weights of all the table saws including their stands.
This saw does offer a dust collection port which helps speed clean up time down when the job is over. We usually utilize this most when we’re installing laminate floors or when we’re cutting inside which is nice for wintertime use. When we hear a tool brand we usually associate it with a type or types of tools that they’re known for. Some of my earliest memories of helping my dad as a kid on a job site was that I couldn’t wait to learn to use the big black and yellow miter saw.
