The Fastest Electric Bike

It all began for SONDORS in February 2015, with the launch of SONDORS Original attracting worldwide attention through one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in history. In keeping with the momentum, SONDORS launched two additional multi-million dollar campaigns – all within the same year. Today, SONDORS Original is still one the most celebrated electric bikes in the U.S., even since being retired and replaced by the more powerful SONDORS X in early 2020.

The Charge City, Comfort and XC models are delivered fully-equipped with fenders, kickstand, lights and cargo racks. When comparing the weight of bikes across brands, make sure the models being considered have similar components and the manufacturer is including the battery in the advertised weight. Get up to 50 miles on a single charge and easily recharge the battery on or off the bike.

On full ebike mode, the motor reaches an average speed of 20 mph. You can also select an assisted mode with four different power options, or a normal giant ROAD BIKES bike mode with the electric motor fully off. A small controller on the bike’s handlebar lets you easily change modes according to your needs.

There are electric bikes for just about every person, from mountain bikes to commuters to large cargo bikes. And while many are still quite expensive, they’re coming down in price. Whether you’re looking for a new way to commute and cruise through the city, or aim to extend your road or mountain bike rides, there’s a Giant E-bike for every style. Ride farther, ride faster, and amp up the fun factor with an electric bike from Giant. Looking for the riding comfort of a fatbike with the assistance of an electric motor? Because e-bikes are capable of greater speeds for longer periods of time than standard bikes, you want extra control.

GoCycle has introduced two new models, the GoCycle G4 ($3,999) and the GoCycle G4i ($4,999), which feature a new motor, carbon-fiber chassis, and a USB port for charging your phone on the go. The Gocycle GX looks like something a supercar designer would build, which isn’t surprising given that it was conceived by former McLaren sports car engineer Richard Thorpe. Not only is this bike’s unique wheels-on-one-side and tapered body eye-catching, it is also able to fold up in a couple of minutes into a size small enough to get by security and into the office elevator. Indeed, for apartment dwellers, the Gocycle can be stashed in a closet. The Giant Trance E +1 Pro is a full-featured mountaineer that’s on the heavy side at over 50 pounds but does remarkably well getting tossed around on rocky routes.

There are many e-bikes design variations available, some with batteries attached to the frame, some housed within the tube. Because the power is applied through the chain and sprocket, power is typically limited to around 250–500 watts to protect against fast wear on the drivetrain. An electric giant mountain mid-drive combined with an internal gear hub at the back hub may require care due to the lack of a clutch mechanism to soften the shock to the gears at the moment of re-engagement. Some power-on-demand only e-bikes can hardly be confused with, let alone categorised as, bicycles.
