Casio Gwg
As the previous model, the G-Steel also features a „hands out of the way” function which will put the hands in a position that will let you see all of the background indicators. The rest of the functions are similar to other top G-Shocks like alarms, world time, chronograph, dual time display, high intensity LED light and many more. The baby g shock feature list is also huge; a compass, a thermometer, stopwatch, timer, alarm, a digital time, date and world time as well as the analogue hands. The analog clock is good as it makes it easy to quickly read the time thanks to the large hands and contrasting markers. In addition, it has large applied Arabic numerals for 12, 3, 6, 9.
The smartphone connection allows for other features as well, some more useful than others depending on the wearer’s needs. The GGB100 dial is a familiar mix of analog and digital elements, which G-SHOCK first introduced way back in 1989. A traditional three-hand configuration and large numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 make the time easy to read at a glance. The LCD display on the dial’s southern hemisphere is where you’ll see a readout of the day and date, or whatever other data you need to review at a given time. The watch’s features are controlled by a set of four quite substantial pushers that protrude from the MUDMASTER’s case, but are still well protected.
We are talking about Casio, known for its rugged G-Shock watch line-up. The funny thing about this watch, is that Casio doesn’t advertise the temperature selection on its wheel of functions. In fact, you probably wouldn’t know it even read the temperature if you didn’t read the instructions. The watch has not one, but two batteries, and neither of them are solar.
The key design principle behind the earliest G-SHOCK timepiece was the idea that the watch module should “float” inside a hollow structure that would be the tough exterior watch case. This way, impacts to the watch would be absorbed by the case, and the internal timekeeping components would be a step removed from the blow. In 1983, the DW-5000C was launched, with the now-iconic square case shape that was determined to be the best for impact resistance and shock absorption.
During my usage, I did not struggle to read the information on dial, however the intensity of the light is quite low. It is not even able to light up half of the dial, which is a bit low-down. G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-1000 comes equipped with triple sensor mechanism including Digital compass, Barometric pressure/Altitude and Temperature readings. It provides instant access to direction you are heading, barometric pressure, and temperature readings of the current environment around you. In the middle of all this analog-digital watchmaking, one watchmaker is still holding its traditional roots and has come out with yet another product, defining company’s conventional watch line-up.
