The Casio G-Shock Mudmaster line is a great example of what the sub brand is capable of, and their latest, the Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GGB100 Watch, more than lives up to the name. High-quality, carbon composite monocoque inner structure designed and engineered to withstand land, sea and air. Quad Sensor capabilities pack compass, altitude / barometer, temperature and accelerometer baby g shock features into one easy-to-read face. A new feature for 2019 is the use of a plastic resin case reinforced with carbon fiber, which replaces the plastic-only structure of many existing models. Unless you have big wrists, or really enjoy wearing large watches, you will find it very big on the wrist, but for the outdoors, it is a bit of a story as it is more of a tool than a watch.

The luminous coating on the hands and hour markers are very bright and will offer great readiness even in very dark environments. Casio have added a new high-end model to their G-Shock family, the great looking GWG-1000 Mudmaster. As with other G-Shock models the Mudmaster is shock-resistan, but is also constructed to resist mud and vibration so that it can be useful in a variety of harsh land environments, like the desert or mud.
They also features a textured strap and large buttons to ensure ease of use and high visibility. With a dual layered caseback of thin stainless steel and fine resin, the watch is airtight and resistant to shocks. Maybe more importantly, they are equipped with location and activity-tracking technology thanks to Bluetooth® connectivity capabilities via the G-SHOCK Connected App. Other functions include a mission log memory, location memory, step tracker, sunrise and sunset data and more.
The bezels on all GWG-1000 models are made of resin, so they would not be ion plated. With the Multi-Band 6 feature the watch can receive the signals from all six transmitters in the five different countries. Yes, just set the home city and it should work if you are within range of the transmitter. Keep in mind some parts of Sweden are not in range but Stockholm should be. The DR suffix just means the watch is designated for export outside Japan.
But the best advice I was given to care of my watches was to take them of before shower (and for sleeping but shower is what’s more damaging). The toughest watches, the more waterproof watches are not made to endure hot water and detergent everyday. Since I stopped wearing them under shower, I just wipe them with my bath towel before going to sleep when I take my watch off, so you clean the sweat and the dust of the day and it’s clean when you put it on in the morning. The two G’s I bought since I do that are just like brand new after a full year. The Mudmaster comes with a double LED illuminated dial, which will come in handy for those early mornings and late nights afield.

It looks like calcium buildup on the resin band, buttons and outer edges of the glass. I’ve heard rubbing alcohol helps, but I don’t want to damage my watch. In terms of techy features, G-Shock watches measure, calculate, and display information in several ways. All these together add up to so many possible features that consumers may be easily overwhelmed, and even Casio has trouble explaining it all. Most people will only use a few of the available features anyway. Similarly affordable, genuinely beat-me-up, quartz tool watches are available from brands like Victorinox, Luminox, and Marathon.
The Maharishi x G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-1000MH-1A is the first GWG-1000-based collaboration watch. This late-2016 limited edition model is made in partnership with London clothing store Maharishi. The bands feature a unique “British Bonsai Forest” pattern that resembles digital camouflage.
