Nvidia Geforce Rtx 2070 Graphics Card

Meanwhile, coming in below the Super at the new price tier of $399 is the RTX 2060 Super. This is a card that is for all intents and purposes a RTX 2070 at a lower price; it uses an ever-so-slightly cut-down version of TU106 to deliver performance that is within 1% of the RTX 2070. All told, NVIDIA has done something fairly similar here as with the RTX 2070 Super, disabling some SMs and cranking up the clockspeeds to compensate. The end result is a card with 34 of 36 SMs enabled, and some extra clocks to help minimize the gap. By the numbers it delivers 96% of RTX 2070’s shading/texturing/geometry performance, but 102% of its ROP/rasterization performance.

I’m genuinely impressed by how well both of these new AMD cards perform in 1440p gaming. In Far Cry 5, frame rates regularly exceeded 90 fps on max settings, and the 5700 XT outperformed Nvidia’s RTX 2060 Super and came close to the higher-priced 2070 Super in most of my tests. However, I did find that frame rates between the AMD and Nvidia cards can vary a lot depending on the game.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the specifications, what’s changed and just how fast the RTX 2070 Super is. Today I’ll be pitching Nvidia’s latest pair of RTX mid-range graphics cards against their predecessors to see just how fast these new tweaked kids on the block are – namely the RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super. You’d be right in thinking the RTX series hasn’t been around long, yet less than 12 months on, Nvidia has ousted a whole new range of graphics cards – the RTX Super series. Nvidia’s latest graphics cards have featured surprising performance in 4K gaming, but we weren’t expecting the Nvidia RTX 2070 to deliver here. INNO3D introduces its new INNO3D GeForce RTX 30 Series with an exciting range of cutting-edge fans including the iCHILL X4 with programmable RGB that boasts large triple 9cm fan with a side rotor fan to cool the MOSFET. Specifically designed to be an ultimate cooling solution and with factory overclock so that all you have to do is plug and play your favourite games straight from the box.

It was always going to be difficult to give the ROG the top performance position due to its lower out-of-the-box clock speed. However what we are comfortable in saying is that the ROG takes the top spot when considering a solid all round option. Fantastic cooling which was both the coolest and quietest, a fantastic meaty design that boosts the aesthetics of any rig and the ability to manually overclock very efficiently. Asus’s brilliant heatsink and fan configuration overclocking the Rog becomes much more forgiving and achievable at high levels.

If the goal is to coerce exorbitant spending for gaming, they’re going to push people into next gen consoles instead. Although, considering the premium that comes with RGB lighting on PC hardware, a $40 price hike is probably par for the course. So, if you want the RGB lighting that the Gaming Trio has to offer, there’s nothing gtx 1080 8gb wrong with that. And, most benchmarks show those two GPUs pulling fairly even in performance. However, if you don’t want to overclock your GPU yourself, or if you like the RGB lighting that this card comes with, and you don’t mind paying a premium to get it, then the ROG STRIX might be best for your specific needs.

Despite this increase in performance, we don’t really see any dramatic rise in temperatures. Like most GPUs, the fans run in idle until needed but the card has been measured at around 33 DBa, which is considered excellent. Overclock– Overclocking refers to pushing the clock speed of a component higher to get more performance. Usually, this is done by the user, but the cards we’re listing here today all boast “factory overclocks”, which is overclocking done by the manufacturer and proven stable. Clock Speed– Clock speed refers to the internal, “core” clock of the graphics processor.
