Its face features large indices and contrasting hands, while its date complication is represented with a subdial at the 9 o’clock position rather than as part of its digital display. Said display is in a sleeker angled window at the 4 o’clock position. Another upgrade the GA-2100 gets is a dual LED system, one that lights up the lumed hands , and a backlight for the digital display window.
I’ve not seen any additional straps to buy yet but hey, new stuff! The strap itself feels a little thinner and more rigid than my other resin G-SHOCK and other Casios in general but this may be because it’s new and I’ve not broken it in yet. On the left there is a retrograde style day of the week arc, followed by a two hand central analogue time display. The hands are black with dark grey lumed inners which really do beam a lot of light well after dark, something that truly surprised me. The first one among the thinnest series with a blackish-grey combo is the G-Shock GA A. With a black bezel and band against grey markers this model looks as classy as it should. Created with perfection and uncountable features, the toughness of this model is visible through its construction.
With a push of a button, hands are moving and permit a free visibility of functions like stopwatch or date. Then the CasiOaks started appearing and for 104 euros, why not give one a try? I like the color, the playful dial, the lack of a second hand, the lume and the way the minute hand makes a little jump every 20 seconds. Greg is a long-time watch lover based in upstate New York.
The GA2000HC-3A comes with an orange bezel and green band while the GA2000HC-7A has a translucent bezel with a blue case and white band. And the recent GA-2000 has some models with skeletonized hands and others with standard hands. i have many many memory with many watches, but the only one that is worthy is my all time favorite – the Tudor Submariner 79090. Looks like a standard 16mm G-Shock lug with quick release feature. So what are my thoughts after a few days of ownership and wearing.
The new GA-2100, also known as CasiOak due to the case’s that resembles an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, breaks away from the square-shaped case. While the G-Shocks have been analog before, the GA-2100 presents the handset front and center, consistently overtaking the digital display and g shock watch giving the watch a familiarity that mechanical watch collectors will love. Coming from the world of landscapes and architecture, watches were something he never thought he would photograph. In 2018 he founded The Watch Clicker to bring his love for watches and photography together.
Synthetic resin is the ideal material for wrist straps thanks to its extremely durable and flexible properties. The daily alarm reminds you about recurring events with an acoustic signal at the time you have set. This model has 5 independent alarms for flexible reminders of important appointments. The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another.
watches, many of which, to me, appear simply clownlike when worn out in the real world. Also, it’s great to see an actually legible analog dial, unlike some with so much clutter on the dial it’s nearly impossible to discern the actual time. Lume the hour markers as well as the hands or make the LED cast better light across the hands too. The full watch and strap is matt black or dark grey depending on the light hitting it.
The second, and larger problem, is that the screen is virtually impossible to read without the backlight, unless the dial happens to be completely bathed in direct sunlight. This watch can be had for $100 from a certain large online retailer. It has an octagonal case shape, not unlike a certain Holy Trinity brand’s famed sports watch, and it’s bright red. If you wear this watch out in a public place, someone is going to comment on the fact that it’s red. You’ll notice people’s eyes gazing at it awkwardly, probably assuming it’s a new smart watch, or maybe assuming that you’re Meek Mill. For me, this is the appeal of my bright red G-Shock GA-2100.
If you plan on, using the actual functions of the watch like the timer or stopwatch you could be waiting a while to get going. And what’s more, it’s still very much an analog piece in that it features a traditional dial layout. Casio, king of digital timekeeping, is still fighting the good fight when it comes to keeping analog alive with the GA A-1. There is a digital display on the southeast quadrant of the dial, and that’s where you can cycle through all the aforementioned functions.
The GA900HC-3A has an olive-green bezel, beige and olive-green band with orange accents on the dial while the GA900HC-5A has a beige bezel, black and beige band, and yellow accents on the dial. The GA900 models have a 7-year battery life and an interchangeable band. Originally inspired from the earliest G-Shock model, DW 5000C, this series comes with an octagonal bezel that gives it a retro look. Not to forget that this thinner series still holds the toughness level for what the G-Shock collection is known for. With the slim designs, these models approach a completely different look, equipped with specifications that makes it an outstanding gadget.
