Three Shades Of Casioak

Let’s start with the shape, the GA2100-1a1 appeared on the gram and elsewhere online, and the case shape and dial just grabbed my eyes. It distinctively looks like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Blacked out with darkened lumes, inverted LCD, and that octagon bezel, it just looked stunningly beautiful.

In the standard display, the digital screen shows running seconds, but it can also be set to display the stopwatch, timer, alarms, as well as different time zones. As we expect, the watch is digital, but still presents the analog time with an hour and minutes hand. When you have a fully digital watch, you don’t have to think too much about legibility, but since this is also digital, it is quite important. But the good news is that the GA A is actually quite legible thanks to the contrast the hands and indices provide against the black background. photo by Watchadvice.com.au.The watch has a resin case which is black. In addition to this, Casio has also used carbon fiber for the construction.

modification kit of gold-toned brushed steel butterfly bracelet and case , including that enigmatic octagon bezel. Full-on bling irony that takes all of five minutes to assemble and sure turns out to be a conversation piece. It’s remarkable fun for about $200 AUD a kit and great if you don’t feel like taking yourself too seriously.

The all-new G-Shock GA-2100 series is coming to Japan in August 2019. Like the recent GA-2000, the GA-2100 is a Carbon Core Guard model, but unlike other recent carbon models, it has a retro G-Shock look thanks to its octagonal bezel and traditionally shaped resin bands. The GA-2100 is actually inspired by the design and shape of the first-ever G-Shock DW-5000C but in a combination analog and digital form. At 11.8 millimeters, it is the thinnest analog-digital G-Shock watch available. Its drive is a popular and proven battery-powered quartz movement. To make a Casio G-SHOCK Casio Carbon Core Guard GA A1ER Zegarek Casio G-SHOCK Carbon Core Guard case, an extremely light and durable composite in grey colour was used.

The grey strap is made of silicone – the material which is characterised by lightness and high level of damage resistance. The grey dial features a mineral crystal, which is very resistant to impacts and scratches that are caused during daily use. The watch with a water resistance of 200 meters means it can be worn while swimming or freediving at greater depths. Casio G-SHOCK GA A1ER is an authentic watch that you can purchase in our authorised store. The model is packed in a branded box and comes with a manufacturer’s warranty.

To even consider a G-Shock with a shirt says much about the blacked-out versatility of this darkest reference, and while not exactly svelte, the lightweight build makes it a joy to wear. Some may be shocked by its huge size which is bigger than most other G-shock watches, but the good news is that it doesn’t wear as big as its dimensions stated on paper may give the impression of. Much of this is thanks to the fact that its slim size allows it to wear comfortably on the wrist despite its big diameter. What makes the GA-2100 extremely compelling is that even among the G-Shock ranks, $99 is still the first stop on the way in (if you’re looking at list prices – we’ve seen this watch listed by re-sellers at triple list). It’s not only an affordable G-Shock, it’s the most affordable one in the entire range at $99, and that includes purely digital and ana-digi models.

The now discontinued two/tone grey G-Shock GA-2100ET-8A matches damn well with some grey cotton sweatpants, strategically worn with a more formal navy merino knit for those Zoom meetings. For a G-Shock, it feels slender at 45mm and with a short 48.5mm lug to lug and no weight, it’s a perfect daily wearer. The bonus is the clever world time mode allowing me to keep up with the editorial team in Melbourne while being locked down here in Norway. While I love mechanical watches, this is just an understated, feather-light presence that does its job quietly. It’s not only remarkably affordable for a watch that is basking in such intense hype, it’s also notably affordable for a G-Shock.

But the so called CasiOak takes it a step further, blending not just the dial but it’s associated furniture into the same hunk of red plastic. So what we’re left with in terms of real world use on the dial is a pretty functional two-hander. The sword shaped hour and minute hands are the only components of the GA-2100 that are not red, thanks to some lume that could be stronger, so they stand out quite well. The twelve indices around the dial’s perimeter are in a slightly lighter shade than the dial’s base, and they’re raised, giving the dial a bit of depth and lending an extra touch of legibility. The GA-2100 has already been dubbed the “CasiOak” all over the watch internet, and other similar mashup nicknames are out there as well.

The only parts in contrast are the hardware buttons, strap screws and buckle. This sounds good but I’d actually far prefer they were all PVD or DLC black too similar to what I have on my RedOut edition from last year. The first thing you notice about the watch is that g shock watch its dark – real dark! In fact in anything but ideal light you’ve got yourself an expensive rubber bracelet. This isn’t a deal breaker as when there is light, or when you manage to set the LED to display for more than 3 milliseconds, you can kinda tell the time, ish.
