Dewalt Dws779 Review
Users think that the saw is great and has a convenient price. It has features including a motor capable of producing 3600 rpm that will allow you do to various quick, clean crosscutting, miter-cutting, molding and framing jobs. This type has a permanent vertical axle with rotating cutting head allowing angled cuts while the blade stays in a fixed vertical position. Dewalt has been around since 1936 and originally started by Raymond Dewalt, the creator of the radial arm saw. This makes the brand an expert in creating carpentry tools particularly saws. After several years, the company grew and went on to producing radial arm saws as well as other wood working machines.
The batteries were plugged in during lunch break to give them an additional 30 minutes of charge time, but I’m not even sure that was needed. The saw has plenty of power for cutting framing materials including engineered lumber, even when running in the cordless mode. What stands out most about this miter saw is how well it performs in both cordless and corded modes. There is no noticeable difference in performance from one mode to the other, and the saw performs just as we’d expect from experience using our other 12″ s over the years.
Sometimes there are “buy the saw, get a $199 miter saw stand for free” promos. With that change, more base weight would be required to balance the saw in all positions – more weight makes it more expensive to build and less portable. Again, the combination of the motor and 40T carbide tipped blade made for a confident cut. Crown molding was hardly a challenge for this system. Even pressure treated 2x material wasn’t too much dewalt accessories trouble. As long as I let the motor and blade do the work instead of mashing it through, I got great cuts. DeWalt drives down the opposite side of the street when it comes to marking a cut line.
On the other hand, you can take your cordless miter saw almost anywhere so long as the battery is charged. The right pick is a matter of preference and the type of work you’ll be doing. Contractors may prefer a corded model since they don’t have to worry about battery drain, but this can be overcome by keeping more than one battery on hand for big jobs. Miter saws, in general, are a fantastic addition to workshops.
