Graco Convertible Car Seats Review

This could pose a challenge in some families especially with younger kids weighing more than 40 lbs. Gone are the days of buying multiple seats as your child grows, plus you can keep your toddler rear facing for much longer with the additional leg room. Among the 4Ever family, theGraco Extend2Fit Convertibleis the lowest model in line with just one significant difference from the 4Ever All-In-One Convertible seat. The Extend2Fit Convertible features only two seat configurations, the rear-facing, and forward-facing car seat.

She achieved a great fit with a lot of room left to grow, and had no difficulties within this seat. If you want an infant carrier, we’d recommend choosing an infant car seat instead of a convertible. Infant seats are usually a better fit for newborns than a convertible seat. You could purchase a convertible later when your little one is ready to ride forward-facing.

Son and daughter in law specifically wanted this car seat after our granddaughter aged out of her infant car seat. They’re very happy with it so far, baby having used it for about a month. She is just 5 months, but in the 95% for height and getting too big for the infant seat. I bought this carseat about a month ago for my 4 year old and we love it so far! The padding is lighter colored so it doesn’t get hot like black padding.

When a car seat is rated for use from 4 lbs, it’s important that it actually fit a 4-lb child. I used a small baby doll and a Huggable Images newborn doll to check the fit with the infant insert, and it did work well, although there are some things you need to be careful of. FYI – all vehicles made after 1996 have seat belts that can lock in some way to hold a carseat tightly in place during routine driving. Most vehicles have switchable retractors but some vehicles or specific seating positions have locking latchplates instead.

Also, it doesn’t work as a detachable infant carrier, so it won’t fit into strollers. Weight ranges for booster modes are slightly different, with the DLX high back booster minimum weight of 40 pounds compared to 30 pounds in the 4Ever. Height range is a little different too, with a minimum height of 43 inches in the DLX, compared graco travel system to 38 inches in the 4Ever. The 4Ever CAN be installed with inflatable seat belts in certain models of Ford vehicles, but not all. If you have a Ford with inflatable seat belts, be sure to consult your vehicle manual and Graco to confirm if your model is compatible. At BabyQuip, cleanliness and safety are our top priorities.

The adjustment is super easy and moves smoothly up and down when you squeeze the lever on top. I’ve only been using the seat for a couple weeks but speaking on quality it appears and feels very comfortable.
