Dewalt 3 Spot Laser Level Dw08302

This level can produce a bright horizontal, vertical, or cross line on any surface up to 50 feet away, meaning it can handle most rooms around the home. The Interior and Exterior Rotary Laser Level is accurate to 1/4 inches at 100 feet. It is constructed to withstand rugged jobsite conditions with a durable rotary cage that helps protect the head if dropped. An innovative configuration of multiple thin struts maintains the unit’s strength while eliminating blind spots. The unit is self-leveling in horizontal mode, and in vertical mode, arrow buttons used for manual leveling are more intuitive than traditional knobs.

The forward projection does just what it sounds like, it projects a line directly onto the surface where the laser is pointed. Similarly, the 360 projection will project a line 360 degrees surrounding the laser. For example, when using a line laser in a room, the forward projection would provide you with a line on one wall whereas the 360 would project that line on all four walls of the room.

The level comes with the standard three projection options such as vertical, horizontal, and cross lined. In addition to these, you can also project a single dot or hairline when you need extra accuracy reflected on the surface you are working with. The Stabilia is powered by three AA batteries and has a 15-hour runtime. The power switch is a sliding mechanical switch with a positive registration. It’s has an on or off feature and locks the laser pendulum when placed in the off position. On the opposite of the switch is a multi -function push button switch, that allows the user to cycle through horizontal, or vertical lines.

It constantly monitors the laser’s temperature so the diodes are always driven to maximum line visibility, while protecting the laser diodes from overheating. This laser has a working range of 165 ft with a detector and a 65 ft visible working range. One switch is for a level line and the other is for the plumb line. The battery compartment is located on the lower rear of the unit. A simple, easy to pull down tab exposed a gasket protected battery compartment.

I have other 12-volt Dewalt tools which allow me the option of using my other 12-volt batteries, if needed. The cleanest, thinnest line was the Stabila LAX300 G. This is the line that will give you the MOST ACCURATE indication. Second to the Stabila, was the Bosch GLL 100 G laser which was also very clean. The Dewalt lines were super bright, thick and a bit fuzzy.

To maximize the versatility of this level, the GLL 1P can be mounted on a variety of surfaces and stands. An adhesive mounting strip is included for mounting it to walls or other objects. The built-in mount can also be screwed to any 1/4-inch tripod stand for larger spaces or projects where you may need to move the laser around. The level is light enough to be handled manually when using the bubble levels or tape measure.

The Bosch laser can be locked to allow for the diagonal laser line applications. On the back side is two buttons that independently control the plumb or level lasers. There is also an LED indicator to indicate low battery and pendulum lock conditions. The power switch on the GLL 100 G is a two-position, sliding mechanical switch with a positive registration. Next, use your laser level to cast a beam of light onto the wall where the pictures are to be hung.

When it comes to the visibility range, it depends on the lighting conditions. In dim, dusk-like conditions, it is possible to see a green beam for over 100 feet. One thing to dewalt tools keep in mind is that green beams do require more battery power than red beam lasers. This 3 Line Green Laser Level features a green beam for clear visibility on the jobsite.
