They can also be used outdoors when framing or installing a deck. It is resistant to water and debris, thanks to the over-molded housing and IP65. Kit includes Blow Mold Case, Extended Ceiling Bracket, 12-Volt Battery, Charger and Green 3 x 360° Line Laser. Indoors, the lines of both laser levels are visible to at least 100′ forward. The left/right 180° fan of the forward lines however, are barely visible past ten feet on either laser. This is good enough for hallways but for large rooms you need to spin the laser toward the wall you’re working on.
Shop laser levels and a variety of tools products online at Lowes.com. This long-reaching laser can has a range of up to 165 ft. when used with a detector . Achieve precise positioning with a fine-adjust knob and supreme accuracy with 1/8 in. Projects bright horizontal and vertical lines that can be used independently or as a cross. The included BM3 Positioning Device offers quick setup in ceiling grid applications, and can also be screwed to a stud or wall and has a micro fine height adjustment.
When it comes to the visibility range, it depends on the lighting conditions. In dim, dusk-like conditions, it is possible to see a green beam for over 100 feet. One thing to keep in mind is that green beams do require more battery power than red beam lasers. This 3 Line Green Laser Level features a green beam for clear visibility on the jobsite.

After you dig 3 inches down and place the grade rod in the hole, you should hear a beep and read that the laser is hitting the detector. This is verification that you have dug the 3 inches deep. Let’s begin with the most common laser found on a jobsite, the line laser. A line laser projects an accurate horizontal or vertical illuminated line onto the surface at which the laser is pointed. Use line lasers indoors when installing cabinetry, tile, a drop ceiling, or for basic leveling.
This laser features a second plumb line that forms a 90-degree intersecting line on the floor and ceiling, great for installing lighting or cabinetry. A built-in magnetic pivot bracket mounts easily on metal surfaces for added convenience. This laser also features a micro adjust knob for precise alignment of 90-degree intersecting lines over greater distances. Red light uses less battery power but is more difficult to see outdoors. Green lasers are more expensive, use more battery power, and are potentially more dangerous to your eyes, but are also easier to see outdoors and over lengthy distances. The thing that sets this one apart from the competition is the high quality laser level you get at a budget price point.
The forward projection does just what it sounds like, it projects a line directly onto the surface where the laser is pointed. Similarly, the 360 projection will project a line 360 degrees surrounding the laser. For example, when using a line laser in a room, the forward projection would provide you with a line on one wall whereas the 360 would project that line on all four walls of the room.
Both the laser line, and small LED flashes when the unit is out of plumb. Rotary lasers are used to kick off nearly every professional construction job. Their applications range from grade work , to layout and masonry. Both dual-slope and single-slope rotary lasers are used to continue a desired pitch across a large area. The desired pitch might be level for finding grade or when using a reference line.
Count on great prices, fast shipping and friendly service every time you order a dewalt dw0882 from Zoro. This matters when setting right angles in bright conditions. Without a forward dot you may need a detector to get your second point. In the pic above I’m standing below the grade rod and could easily see the DeWalt spot at 130′ and 11′ 5 1/4” off the ground. The Makita spot was also readable, but the DeWalt dot was smaller and brighter, smaller is better. Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly.
Now, measure the length from that midpoint to the hanging wire or bracket on the back of the picture. Finally, use your ruler to find that measurement above the laser beam. The self-leveling feature takes a lot of the guess work out of setting the laser up. Once you have the laser positioned within four degrees of true level, the laser dewalt tools will take over to fine tune the final position. If you need to project something that is skewed, the lock mode will let you position the laser any way you need. Tool Connect™ app via Bluetooth® technology for features including tool tracking, bump notifications, fall and drop indications, and changes in slope and line detection.
