Experienced users recommend putting down a 2″ layer of rubber playground mulch nuggets protective flooring before installation of the tub. And to prevent settling, apply a 1″ layer of paver sand and provide a thermal base. This will ensure that the hot tub is insulated and seating will be much more comfortable.
