It’s sporty and fun with a streamlined design for easy paddling. The bright green color and sporty graphics make this Intex blow-up kayak highly visible in the water. It’s suitable for one adult and is ideal for experiencing lakes and mild rivers solo. The intex purespa Inflatable Kayak with Oar and Hand Pump includes a repair patch for your convenience so that you can be back on the water fast if a fix is needed. An Inflatable I-beam floor and low-profile deck make for a stable ride, while high-buoyancy side chambers supply additional safety.
I’m more of a pain-in-the-a about it, so I had to do it exactly how it was unfolded. I can already tell you the difference between my kayak and my wife’s kayak is that mine will last far better than hers. I took someone else’s advice and took pictures of how it was unfolded so that I can fold it back up exactly like so.
However, it’s also the most expensive Intex kayak. The boat weighs 26.5 lbs and can be transported with a carrier bag. I have heard some great reviews and feedback from other intex frame pool people who own the Intex Challenger as well. The consensus seems to be that it’s a great deal for the price. With only two air valves this one doesn’t rate as high in safety.
The inflatable kayak is constructed so that the stern and bow are somewhat closed. This considerably reduces the ingress of spray water. In my case the Intex Challenger K1 is too small, because I am too tall for the boat (6.2 ft). In addition the canopy is very low dimensioned, so that one feels constricted. Otherwise we recommend the Intex Challenger K2, which can also be paddled as a single kayak. The Challenger is made with welded vinyl construction.
The most troublesome part of the kayaks came when it was time to store them. They air down quickly but, like any thing that needs folding up, it’s quite a magic trick to make them fit into the bags that came with the kayaks. Even so, I can’t wait to take these out on the water again, soon. Some people have the roof space on their vehicle to attach a rack to carry kayaks.
