Polo Ralph Lauren

Also woods and patchouli along with moss, and a hint of leather. I like this scent the most when initially applied as I can smell the pine and fir. Under drydown it becomes exclusively tobacco, leather, and woods. Moderate sillage and strong longevity. I’m just not that great of a fan of the scent – especially in drydown – the tobacco and leather kind of ruin it for me; I would prefer a more natural forest scent.

It smells exactly what I remember back in the day, but the silage is only several hours if that, not quite as long as the the EDT. What I really would like to know is in what respects does the “Modern Reserve” differ to the “After Shave” splash on, and the “EDT”? Fragrances like this are a symbol of maturity and a solid strong personality; just made for men that are not looking for compliments but to wear the fragrance they only appreciate and love. This is a milestone in men’s perfumery. Probably the most classic and the most masculine of all men’s fragrances.

Look if God had his own perfume house, then this would be the garden of Eden scent. This scent is soo good and takes me back. Every time I spray it, I think of my friend, and playing with our Star Wars figures back in the day, which is nice.

Legend has it that my wife was taken in by me as this is what I wore when I first met her. 20 years later she still swears that she remembers me with this perfume. It’s still her favourite, though I now own a lot of perfumes her eyes light up whenever i wear this one.

Celebrating classic American aesthetics with a modern approach, Polo Ralph Lauren combines iconic style and enduring quality in silhouettes fit for every occasion. Although the opening is quite hard to handle for me, the heart notes and the base notes are a delight. thank you carlos benaim you wizard genius you. Basically, what hits you first is the mix of cut grass and other plants, then the unmistakable piquant smell of the black pepper. 90% of what I’ve sampled before have been women’s fragrances, which tend to skimp on the black pepper. While I think that it would smell quite masculine and attractive on a man, I’m not sure that a woman wouldn’t be able to wear it in the right circumstances.

Everyone needs a few anchor-points back to their young and carefree days, and funnily enough, Polo Green has become one of mine from a memory I will always look back on with a smile. My poor ERG forever stunk of Polo Green after that, the smell literally never vanished! Back in the day this stuff was a whole forest crushed and compressed into liquid form and then crammed into a bottle! Whatever formulation I had in mid 90’s sure smelled nice, news didn’t travel fast and nobody paged me to let me know that the original is no more.

On June 12, 1997, the company becomes a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1977, Diane Keaton and Woody Allen wore Lauren’s clothes in the Oscar-winning polo dress shirts film, Annie Hall. Lauren started The Ralph Lauren Corporation in 1967 with men’s ties. At 28 years-old, Lauren worked for the tie manufacturer Beau Brummell.

I feel limited wearing this as a lot of people I come into contact with don’t like it. Friends that have smelled it often have a face of disgust and say that it smells like a grandpa, or that it is strong, but I rarely have experienced someone actually liking it. Best way I can describe it is that it smells like money. Seriously, the old style paper notes, imagine a fat roll of money and sniff it. Not the performance monster it was but still lasts for days on end on clothes. My uncle had had this as his signature scent for over 30 years.

I’ve gotten a couple compliments from this fragrance and also love it myself . This is the gold standard when it comes to masculine smelling men’s fragrances. What I get initially is pine needles and the general smell of being outdoors in the country.
