Nvidia Gtx 1660 Super Review
This graphics card supports NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology for a super-smooth variable refresh rate experience. Enjoy AAA games without the nuisance of screen tearing or stuttering. The GTX 1660 Ti and GTX 1660 are roughly similar in terms of clock speeds – in fact the latter offers higher base and boost frequencies. However, the more expensive card offers more Cuda cores as well as faster GDDR6 as opposed to GDDR5 memory, meaning the GTX gtx 1080 8gb 1660 trails in memory bandwidth at 192.1GB/sec compared to 288.1GB/sec. With a promised 15% performance boost over the GTX GB and up to 30% over the similarly-priced 3GB model of that card, the GTX 1660 still has what it takes to be an excellent 1080p HD gaming card, on paper at least. General performance parameters such as number of shaders, GPU core base clock and boost clock speeds, manufacturing process, texturing and calculation speed.
The company’s Nvidia Ultra Low-Latency technology, which queues frames just-in-time for the GPU, now supports G-Sync. This technology works best with games that are rendered below your monitor’s native resolution for enhanced performance, then scaled up to your display’s specifications. Nvidia’s supplementing the GTX Super launch with some enticing new GeForce Experience software features.
The GTX 16-series is only is only about six months old, and adding GDDR6 to the GTX 1660 basically gets you a 1660 Ti. “Look, dad, I just made a more powerful robot. I call it the super robot!” The kids will love it. Or maybe I’m just getting old and I’ve lost touch with how awesome super heroes are. Stepping up to 2,560 x 1,440 and there’s very little difference between the RX 590 and GTX 1660, with just a small bump in the minimum frame rate for the Nvidia card. A minimum frame rate of 37fps is a great result here given this is a mid-range resolution at some fairly high settings in this game, although I’d be tempted to opt for the GTX 1660 Ti for a little more headroom. Once again, there’s a huge near 30% step up from the GTX GB, meaning that you’d probably consider the new card a worthwhile upgrade. The Turing architecture was introduced almost a year ago, and today the lineup has grown significantly larger than it was at launch. The gtx 1080 8gb is undoubtedly a worthy successor to the original GTX 1660, which was a popular graphics card choice in many budget gaming setups. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER would be the latest addition to the Turing based GeForce 16 family.
It was discontinued in April 2017, and Time Spy benchmark is now recommended to be used instead. Comparison of graphics card architecture, market segment, value for money and other general parameters. Finishing up the gaming benchmarks we have Middle-earth Shadow of War and here the 1660 Super was 19% faster than the base model and just 3% slower than the Ti version, so again another excellent result. The fact the Super can match the higher-spec silicon of the Ti with just a slight memory speed bump does show that those 128 CUDA cores don’t really amount to much when it comes to gaming performance. If you don’t have sufficient memory that will hold things up as system resources will need to be pulled from elsewhere to supplement your graphics card. And if the memory is slow you’re going to have to wait longer for it all to be pulled together and a frame to be displayed on your screen.
This is fantastic mid-range video card capable of handling 120 fps framerate games for a mid-range price. Comes with 6GB dedicated RAM and tools to auto-download latest/updated drivers. DX12 and GeForce graphics cards enable developers to add amazing graphics effects like variable rate shading to Microsoft Windows-based PC games.

To be fair to NVIDIA, some of this is because the GeForce product stack goes higher in price than before, especially with the $1100 RTX 2080 Ti. Still, NVIDIA has launched more cards at a faster pace than at any point in the past half-decade. The Super cards in particular have added significantly to this count, with NVIDIA shipping what amounts to a mid-generation refresh for their lineup not even a year into its launch.
