Here are the gaming performance results for the EVGA GTX 1660 Super SC Ultra. Most of the other cards are reference clocked models, though the RTX 2070, 2080, and 2080 Ti are Founders Edition cards that also have a 90MHz factory overclock. AMD’s RX 590, 580, and 570 cards are likewise factory overclocked models, but I don’t normally consider differences of less than 5 percent to be particularly meaningful when comparing performance. There’s a reason for these new GTX Super cards, of course, and that reason is AMD. Specifically, AMD recently launched the OEM version of the Radeon RX 5500, and consumer models are expected to arrive shortly.

The difference that makes is easily seen in the memory bandwidth the different cards offer, with the Super delivering 75% greater bandwidth than the straight GTX 1660. The comparison with the GTX 1660 Ti isn’t quite so stark, with the new memory system only having around 17% extra bandwidth than the top card. But, importantly, that still seems to take up a lot of the slack in terms of matching the lower CUDA core count of the Super card with the fatter TU116 GPU of the GTX 1660 Ti. At least that’s what the Nvidia GTX 1660 Super graphics card seems to be telling us. The latest GeForce Super card is the first to come sporting the GTX prefix, and also the first that doesn’t actually deliver a tangibly different GPU either.

The Turing GPU architecture is a genuine advancement over the last-gen Pascal design, offering gaming improvements well beyond the ray tracing noise. We’ve been big fans of the Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti since it first arrived delivering the highest gaming performance we’ve seen in a GPU that costs less than $300. So long as we were talking MSRP versions anyways… there have been some factory overclocked cards topping the $300 mark and they’re harder to recommend. Compared to the similarly priced AMD RX 590 there’s no competition here at all, as the 1660 Super is faster across the board by a decent margin, so AMD will need a price cut to remain competitive at this price point. It also smokes the GTX 1060, making it a very decent upgrade to that GPU, as it runs between 20 and 30 percent faster in most games. The addition of a Walmart Protection Plan adds extra protection from the date of purchase.

The latest GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti GPUs, which don’t have RT but do have integer cores, will run ray-traced games moderately better than last-gen 10-series GPUs. NVIDIA also announced that Unity and Unreal Engine now support ray-tracing, allowing developers to implement the tech into their games. The RTX 2070 Super replaces the RTX 2070 in Nvidia’s line-up of ray-tracing high performance GPUs, yielding around a 10% performance improvement at the same $500 USD price point. The 2070 Super has been upgraded to use the same GPU die as in the RTX 2080, and now has 2560 CUDA cores, up from 2304 in the 2070. 1660 ti feels overpriced now without an included game to justify it.

2.Performance-This is a gtx 1090 and most people knows for what it is made. Yes, it runs every modern AAA title at high to ultra settings at 1080p with respectable 60+ to about 100+ FPS. Both cards look set to retail at similar prices once the GTX 1660 hits the shelves. Overall the Nvidia card is faster, but there are some titles where the difference is negligible and others where the AMD card is faster.
