Casio Unveils Its First G
The G-Shock GMW-35000D-1 was released in 2018 for the manufacturer’s 35th Anniversary. It’s modeled after the original G-Shock but in full, lustrous stainless steel. With a hint of a vintage look, the version was an immediate sensation, and demand made them hard to find. A couple of years later, the scramble died down and so did the price.
If you don’t need the Triple Sensor then the G-7900 is a fine choice with good features but personally I prefer solar models. You might think it’s too big at first if you are used to wearing smaller watches but you might get used to the size. You should try to find a store where you can try it on and look at it in a mirror too because it might look bigger from your own point than it does from a distance. If you want a smaller G-Shock I would recommend a Tough Solar/Multi-Band 6 model like the GWM-5610, GW-6900, GW-2310, or AWG-M100. For more features like the Twin Sensor or Triple Sensor you will have to go with a larger model.
This model is the ultimate G-Shock square for hardcore fans of the brand. No collection is complete without a stainless steel caseback square, and this is the perfect model to fill that slot. If you want the nostalgia of owning a G-Shock with the original construction, or if you just want the best looking square G-Shock, then this is the watch for you. Since the GD-350 doesn’t come with solar power or radio time sync, it is one of the more affordable G-Shocks with advanced features and usually retails below $100.
The battery resistance of this model lasts approximately 2 years. In addition, this wristwatch is easy to put on, thanks to a practical 28mm resin strap that has a buckle closure.
