Nvidia Gtx 1660 Super Review

The original $150 GTX offers minimal appeal unless you’re using it to upgrade a prebuilt non-gaming PC. It runs slower than the rival Radeon RX 570, and it costs more money—but unlike AMD’s gtx 1090 GPU, many models of the original GTX 1650 don’t need extra power cabling . Cloud Gate is an outdated DirectX 11 feature level 10 benchmark that was used for home PCs and basic notebooks.

At least the price is lower, which brings me to the official specs overview. Video Card Benchmarks – Over 200,000 Video Cards and 900 Models Benchmarked and compared in graph form – This page is an alphabetical listing of video card models we have obtained benchmark information for. The Radeon RX 580 is a performance-segment graphics card by AMD, launched in April 2017. Built on the 14 nm process, and based on the Polaris 20 graphics processor, in its Polaris 20 XTX variant, the card supports DirectX 12. NVIDIA will roll out a driver update next month that will bring ray tracing to its GeForce GTX cards, with everything from the GTX 1060 and above receiving the update. NVIDIA mentions that the image quality will be based on the effect that is used — and how that is optimised — within a particular game.

As the new gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb cards are a mid-generation kicker of a mainstream card, there aren’t any reference cards to speak of here. Instead, this is a pure virtual launch, with all of the cards on the market being partner designs. As time goes on, we will build a new database of results with results generated from this test system. For now, we include GPUs that offer similar performance to the card under review. In this case we have two Nvidia cards, a Gigabyte GTX 1650 and an EVGA GTX 1660 Ti.

If items ordered are in stock and customer payment is confirmed, orders consisting solely of components that are placed before 5 p.m. eastern standard time usually ship the same business day if using UPS as the shipping method. It used four tests based on two scenes, one being few submarines exploring the submerged wreck of a sunken ship, the other is an abandoned temple deep in the jungle.

Obviously there is also a non-Ti, non-Super version of the Nvidia GTX 1660 too. And, honestly, it’s very much looking like the third wheel in this triumvirate. It’s not currently much cheaper than the $230 MSRP of the Palit GTX 1660 Super we’ve been testing, and is consistently slower despite not being a hugely different card on the surface. Though we do anticipate pricing changing for the OG card very soon.

We should note that both Gigabyte and ASUS have an array of GeForce GTX 1660 Super cards coming down the pipeline, with varied designs and clock speeds. The outputs on the Asus Dual GeForce GTX 1660 Super EVO OC are somewhat different than most other recently-released GPUs. Gigabyte’s Windforce 3X cooler features three 80mm fans, with ribbed fan blades to add rigidity and reduce noise.

The clock speeds of the card would be maintained at 1530 MHz base and 1785 MHz boost. In terms of memory, the card would receive a big upgrade in the form of GDDR6 which was missing on the existing GTX 1660. The GTX 1660 SUPER with 6 GB GDDR6 memory would feature 14 Gbps dies running across a 192-bit bus interface to deliver a total bandwidth of 336 GB/s. We’ve seen this in a few games and with Project Cars 2 we have yet another example where the extra memory bandwidth leads to no performance uplift, just an extra frame for the 1660 Super over the non-super version. Nvidia isn’t quite done with its Turing architecture just yet, and is releasing what is likely to be the final graphics cards in its product stack, plugging two holes to complete its lineup.

GIGABYTE provides new innovated 3D sensing product -Time of Flight camera. ToF camera is a special purpose, low-cost smart solution with novel 3D imaging capture technology. The ToF camera includes high-performance advanced analytics as a standard feature, improving measurement accuracy and performance when compared to the current generation of RGB and stereoscopic cameras.

These cards, like the mid-range and high-end Super cards that preceded them, are also designed to improve performance and offer a better price-to-performance ratio than the non-super cards that preceded them. These value charts can’t fully quantify every potential buyer, as for many people raw performance will hold more weight than price. It’s why some gamers buy the RTX 2080 Ti, even though it’s at the bottom of the GPU value charts and only about half way up the system value charts.
