Geforce® Gtx 1660 Oc 6g Key Features
Back in 2015, Nvidia launched the Titan X Maxwell – a ‘big chip’ monster that delivered hitherto unheard of graphics power. GTX 980 Ti followed, with very similar frame-rates delivered by the still-capable GTX 1070 a year later. Now, in 2019, GTX 1660 Ti brings that level of power below the £300/$300 threshold, its 120W TDP less than half that of the GTX 980 Ti. It’s not quite as good as the GTX 1660 Ti, which is our current favorite for 1080p no-compromises gaming–especially on 120Hz or 144Hz monitors. If you have a high powered monitor like that, then you might want to look at the GTX 1660 Ti, but if you have a standard 60Hz, 1080p monitor then you really can’t go wrong with the GTX 1660—especially at this price.
And there’s a large chunk of PC gamers running far less capable hardware, so anyone with a GTX 960 or lower may finally be tempted to make the switch. Or not, since it’s still only a minor bump in performance relative to the GTX GB for only a slightly better price. If the 1060 didn’t convince you to upgrade over two years ago for $250, I can’t imagine percent more performance for $30 less being the tipping point. Moving to 1080p ultra doesn’t change things much, though the 1660 tends to do slightly better by a few percent in each of the above comparisons . There are a few games where the gtx 1080 8gb isn’t able to average 60fps or more, but that’s only in notoriously punishing games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Metro Exodus. Overall, it’s a very capable 1080p gaming card—better than the GB that launched a couple of years back, but not tremendously so.
Some of that growth is attributable to the Turing architecture’s more sophisticated shaders. When you hear about Turing cores achieving better performance than Pascal at a given clock rate, this capability largely explains why. It was only a matter of time before Nvidia took the pristine TU116 graphics processor in its GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and carved it up a bit to create a lower-cost derivative. The new GeForce GTX 1660 is, unsurprisingly, very similar to the higher-end model in that it lacks the Turing architecture’s signature RT and Tensor cores. Instead, it aims on-die resources at accelerating today’s rasterized games.
For desktop video cards it’s interface and bus , additional power connectors . Compatibility-wise, this is dual-slot card attached via PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. Its manufacturer default version has a length of 229 mm. 1x 8-pin power connector is required, and power consumption is at 120 Watt. At this price the Nvidia GTX 1660 is the card someone coming in fresh, or upgrading from a three year-old mainstream GPU, should be looking at.

In a world where you can find an (admittedly power-hungry and increasingly dated) AMD RX 580 for $180, NVIDIA needs to be aggressive on price if it wants to really put the squeeze on its rival. Cloud Gate is an outdated DirectX gtx 1080 8gb 11 feature level 10 benchmark that was used for home PCs and basic notebooks. It displays a few scenes of some weird space teleportation device launching spaceships into unknown, using fixed resolution of 1280×720.
