There is nothing on the tool side that measures and monitors the voltage. I’ve been using knock off batteries and battery adapters for years with no issues. I use knock off Dewalt batteries on my Makita and Milwakuee tools daily with adapters, no issues at all. I’ve probably saved hundreds if not thousands in not having to buy into every battery/charger line, instead just having the Dewalt line of batteries.
Charge time – DeWALTs 20V MAX batteries have a high density of energy that may allow them to keep your power tools going continuously for several hours before requiring a recharge. I find a huge problem with the cordless mowers is the non-standard battery packs. I had a Ryobi model a few years ago that was a wonderful machine, even self propelled.
