This seat may only be installed with lower anchors for children weighing under 42 or 45 pounds, depending on when your 4Ever was manufactured. If your child weighs more than the lower anchor weight limit, it can always be installed with vehicle seat belt and top tether instead of the lower anchors and top tether. The openings in the cover make installing the seat with either the vehicle seat belt or lower anchors a breeze.
Children are messy creatures, so you’ll want to be sure to take good care of the seat cover. Clean up spills quickly, vacuum out crumbs regularly, and check the cover for wear. To start, I had to move the UAS from the rear facing belt path to the forward facing belt path. To do this I had to remove the seat cover, bring both UAS clips into the centre, and slide the UAS strap along a metal bar until it reached the forward facing belt path. Then I pulled the UAS clips out through the forward facing belt path checking that they were sitting flat and not twisted across the back of the 4Ever. This just ensures you don’t end up tightening the UAS only to find the tether is stuck behind the seat where you can’t access it without undoing the UAS!

Regardless of whether a forward facing install uses the lower anchors or the vehicle seat belt, always attach the top tether to the tether connector on the vehicle. Basically, you will hear an audible click when you have installed the car seat correctly, a feature I, as world’s most paranoid mom, appreciate. For me, personally, it took a few tries to hear a click that I trusted but, again, I am SuperCautious . Once I heard a confident click, I rested easy knowing my babe was safe.
