Also, it’s great to see an actually legible analog dial, unlike some with so much clutter on the dial it’s nearly impossible to discern the actual time. In the morning the watch would look great, but there are problems with the black ones at night you won’t be able to notice the time that quick enough until you are a true ‘Black’ Fanboys it won’t matter you much. Other than that though each and every perspective, the 2100A has impressed me a lot and I hope you too would be impressed. I personally love the design, G-Shock has surprised with it’s a sharp and sleek design, after all, it is similar to the historical ‘Royal Oak’. But it is very important to understand in the matter of ‘Tech’ no one can beat the ‘Japanese Technology’ and in no space, they have given so many functions. I admit it is no match to the G-Shock ‘origin’ (GMW-B5000) but still it is classy and powerful.
While I love mechanical watches, this is just an understated, feather-light presence that does its job quietly. There are a few features missing from the CasiOak that buyers are most likely going to be looking for. The most common question I was asked about this watch leading up to the review was whether it had radio sync and Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, it does not have either, but given the price of this watch, the omission is appropriate.
The G-Shock GA-2100 case and bezel comes with Casio’s own blend of resin and carbon fiber. They call it Carbon Core Guard structure because it is so light and strong. The whole watch comes in at just over 50 grams, which is insane for a watch. These G-Shock watches also come in a range of eye-catching colors from the all-black model shown above, to bright red, black with green and red accents, black with bright purple and a whole lot more. However, my favorite complication of the CasiOak is the world timer.
Said display is in a sleeker angled window at the 4 o’clock position. Another upgrade the GA-2100 gets is a dual LED system, one that lights up the lumed hands , and a backlight for the digital display window. The new GA-2100 model getand updated octagon form that was also employed for the original DW-5000C. Analog-digital timekeeping comes packed into a no-nonsense simple design without sacrificing the G-SHOCK level toughness. High-strength resin material, which is reinforced with carbon fibers, makes it possible to create a case that is a mere 11.8 mm thin, which is the thinnest among G-SHOCK combination models yet.
Also new, but not released in the U.S., is the yellow and black GA-2110SU-9A that was released in Japan, Asia, Europe, and Australia. We wouldn’t be surprised to see more GA-2100 models released in 2020. The GA-2100 is a great-looking watch, and the reasonable US$99-$110 MSRP offers a great value. Whether purchased as a daily wearer or for the weekends and recreation, buying a GA-2100 is within most people’s budget and does not require a major sacrifice.
the only point that got me mesmerized was that in such a thin how could anyone add so many functions? If you plan on, using the actual functions of the watch like the timer or stopwatch you could be waiting a while to get going. The hour markers are large and clear rectangles with easy to read hour and minute hands. Of course, there is no second hand as this is taken care of by the digital display. That is done using a unique angled screen between 3 and 6 o’clock and helps you control all the other functions. If you’re still in two minds about g shock and are thinking about choosing a similar product, AliExpress is a great place to compare prices and sellers.
The digital display does take care of this problem, which I will discuss shortly. Fashion in-jokes have a short half-life, yet this piece has stuck around, even after it became clear the similarity wasn’t intentional. The shape first g shock watch appeared on the original DW5000 and we have used the motif many times ever since.” So too have many other brands over the decades. As we expect, the watch is digital, but still presents the analog time with an hour and minutes hand.
The Jinshu case and bracelet here is unapologetically based around the look of the Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet, which suits the original shape of the GA-2100 very, very well. Still, in obviously increased dimensions somewhat so this does wear more significant on the wrist. Spend any time in the vast world of Casio G-SHOCK, and you will uncover a vast community modifying these watches in all sorts of ways. Coloured screens, dial painting, full custom artwork, you name it, someone has probably done it and some with nothing short of spectacular results!
It’s similar to wearing an oval watch, like a Patek Philippe Ellipse. Part of this is an illusion – the strap starts tapering almost immediately, making g shock watch the horizon of the north and south poles of the GA-2100 disappear along with it. Still, that optical effect has a real impact on the wearing experience.
