The AWGM100B-1A might be more appropriate for you looks-wise but the countdown timer has a limit of 100 minutes . I work at an underground river/cenote place guiding people and we g shock protection need a water resistant watch. A reverse LCD display has a black background and light digits. Sometimes a reverse LCD display can be harder to read at an angle or in low light.
Other than that, most watches in this series have the same features as all G-shocks, though in the case of the GA-700UC , a few of the colors used are quite different. You can get it in militaristic olive green and dark gray. The only gripe here is that this line has weak low light capabilities, which is a let-down considering g shock watch their convenient positioning of the LED light button. Thanks, watches with an “STN” LCD display have better contrast and viewing angles, but there are not a lot of G-Shock watches with this kind of display. The metal GMW-B5000 series has it (and I think that is the only full-digital G-Shock that has it).
