Msi Gaming X Geforce Gtx 1660

It’s not going to bring home any pink slips in a race, but if all you’re looking for is a good 1080p gaming experience, this will do. Testing is conducted at 1080p ‘medium’ quality, along with ‘ultra’ quality at 1080p, 1440p, and 4k. In most games the ultra preset maxes out all the options, while in games that don’t include presets I’ve manually maxed out the settings (eg, GTA5’s advanced graphics menu, other than superscaling). Some games punish cards with less than 6GB or even 8GB of VRAM at these settings, but in general the asus gtx1060 6gb should be fine. I’m only going to include the summary chart for 4k, as that’s definitely not a reasonable target for this GPU.

Otherwise, coming from the other direction the vanilla GTX 1660 is still regularly found for around $219. With just a $10 price gap between it and the GTX 1660 Super, the Super card is the obvious choice right now, as 12% more performance is more than worth the $10. Despite all of this, NVIDIA insists that they and their partners are going to keep selling the vanilla GTX 1660. So it will be interesting to see what NVIDIA actual does here, both in terms of card supply and pricing. The GTX 1660 has to come down in price to have any future; and if that were to happen, then it might make for a decent sub-$200 spoiler. At this point, the partners have been shipping TU116-based cards for over 6 months, so they have been able to hone their GTX 1660 family designs.

The hub on the fans are slightly smaller than usual, which allows the fan blades to be a bit longer. And there is a ring that runs around the blades to add some rigidity and reportedly increase downward air pressure. It provides good gaming and benchmark performance at 44.63 percent of a leader’s which is AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.

There is a bit of subtle RGB lighting on the Asus Dual GeForce gtx1080 price Super EVO OC too. That ‘slash’ between the logos and branding on the top of the card lights up and can be customized via Asus’ included software. The GTX 1650 Super will go on sale November 22nd with pricing to be confirmed before launch.

But for this nominally cheaper Nvidia card its current gaming performance makes it a far more worthy purchase than the RX 590 for a gamer on a budget. There is, however, still the point that the RX 580 isn’t thatfar off the performance of either the RX 590 or GTX 1660, and just about undercuts both cards in terms of its pricing. I would say that this Gigabyte GTX 1660 card is quite heavily overclocked compared with the reference clocked GPUs, despite it sharing the same MSRP at launch. That means reference versions might be a fair bit slower, and there is the chance that the $219 (£199) launch price of this OC card might not stick around long after release day sales have passed.

The isn’t going to beat the RX 580 8GB or 570 4GB on value, not with the current prices, but it’s not far off. And, it’s also important to note that this GPU doesn’t have the RT and Tensor cores that the RTX 20-series of Turing graphics cards have. This means that while you can technically enable ray tracing, it’s going to turn whatever game you try to enable it on into a slideshow – more so than it does on any other graphics card. During our testing, we accidentally left ray tracing on in Metro Exodus, and even the menu was nigh-unusable. It can even play COD at 60FPS on medium settings and we all know how resource heavy that game is.

There are no RGB LEDs, or any lights for that matter, no dual VBIOS chips, or really any other higher end features. That’s fine with me, though, since anyone looking for such features would usually be better off spending more money and grabbing a GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060. This is a no-frills card that provides everything you need, at Nvidia’s base $219 price. The GeForce GTX 1660 continues the downward price and performance trend with Nvidia’s Turing architecture, cutting additional high-end features to bring a generational improvement to the mainstream market.
