It’s certainly not the most colour accurate panel on the market, although I wasn’t expecting any earth-shattering numbers here from a mainstream laptop of this calibre. I ran the Cinebench R23 in a loop to find out whether the turbo frequency was maintained. The HWInfo report says the max clock speed of 3996MHz was achieved throughout the test, which is a good sign. Cinebench’s single thread tests were also being worked at around the same clock speeds. The GTX 1650 Super operates across a 128-bit wide bus interface at speeds of 12 Gbps supporting Engine Boost speeds up-to 1725 MHz. The new interactive one key overclock button is to boost the power of your GPU clock up to 1755 MHz.
The only thing likely to remove RX 570 from the market will be when AMD starts shipping Navi, currently rumored for July 7, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s clearly faster than the GTX 1050, by 57 percent at 1080p medium and 73 percent at 1080p ultra in my testing. Again, a lot of that is due to the nvidia1080 1050’s limited VRAM, as the GTX 1050 Ti is much closer—the 1650 is about 30 percent faster. The GTX GB meanwhile leads by 17 percent at 1080p medium and 9 percent at 1080p ultra, and the RX 570 4GB is in a similar position. Finally, the rumors on pricing ended up being a bit high, which is good news.
It should be noted however that while the reference TDP for the asus gtx1060 6gb is 75W, board partners have been free to design their own cards with higher TDPs. As a result, many of the partner cards on the market are running faster and hotter than NVIDIA’s reference specs in order to maximize their cards’ performance, with TDPs closer to 90W. With a TDP of 75W, the smallest member of the Turing family is also the lowest power. The net result of this process, the GeForce GTX 1650, is a somewhat unassuming card if we’re going by the numbers, but an important one for NVIDIA’s product stack.
Wrapping up the charts, above are two different views of performance per monetary unit (using Germany for Euro pricing, if you’re wondering). I’ve calculated “value” for these midrange, budget, and select high-end models using the best available pricing as of April 23. Prices do fluctuate, but most of these graphics cards are readily available at the prices used. Capture and share videos, screenshots, and livestreams with friends.
TU117 doesn’t support Nvidia Optical Flow, which is useful for motion interpolation software (SmoothVideo Project, etc.). All TU117 GPUs use Volta’s NVENC encoder instead of Turing’s. Unusual this year for NVIDIA, the company is also sweetening the pot a bit by extending their ongoing Fortnite bundle to cover the nvidia1080.
