A lot of people have the same complaint about the reverse LCD displays on G-Shocks. There is also the GW ER which has a standard LCD display but for some reason it never got a U.S. release so it is more expensive to obtain. I think the Tough Solar and Multi-Band timekeeping features will always be useful. I am still wearing a GWM5600A-3 from ten years ago and haven’t had to change the battery yet. Mudman G-9300 has a compass and thermometer and Rangeman GW-9400 has an altimeter, barometer, compass, and thermometer. They both have Tough Solar power but Rangeman also has Multi-Band 6 time syncing.
For the latter, it only has the usual G-shock features like a countdown timer, daily alarm, stopwatch, and 200M water-resistance capability. The con if you want to choose this option though, is that its durability makes it bulky, and somewhat underwhelming in terms of appeal. and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. A lot of the S Series watches have more feminine colors but the dark gray GMA-S110CM-8A would be a good choice for boy. I want a watch for swimming that is not too big since I have a small wrist. GA-120 has estimated battery life of 3 years versus 2 years for the GA-110.
The GSW-H1000, part of Casio’s rugged G-Squad Pro lineup, has a host of sports features and is also the first G-Shock watch with a color display. People usually associate the ’80s with neon Day-Glo colors, and there was certainly a lot of that, but there were also some really fantastic color combinations that were more subtle and cool. It would have been fun g shock protection to have “Pulse Code Modulation” on the strap, but that doesn’t make any sense on a watch. These mostly transparent cases for Casio watches are relatively new because, until recently, I believe it was hard to create a stable material that did not discolor over time. For example, earlier transparent plastic watch cases would mostly turn yellow over time.
You can get the GA-800-1A around $100, which is still rather modest. The G-Shock DW series is filled with the cheapest G-shock watches that you can buy. Better yet, let’s call it the introductory series to other more advanced ones that Casio offers. It seems that much of what you’re paying for with the new Casio is the retro-cool g shock protection design, and it certainly does look good. We hope to put it to the test soon so we can see whether it’s enough to justify the price tag, and see how it compares to its rivals in the gym and on the road. A team of three individuals was selected by Ibe which was known as “team tough”. The team had assembled and tested nearly 200 prototypes but were still not able to achieve the conception criteria. With that in mind, the team set out to develop a watch using such a concept and in 1983, the first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, was launched. GWN-1000 is one of my favorite watches (as it’s the most affordable Tough Solar analog-digital G-Shock with Triple Sensor), but it’s more expensive now and harder to find than it used to be in the U.S. GWN-Q1000 with depth sensor is also nice but is only sold in Japan now.

That’s a first for G-Shock watches, though Casio already uses Wear OS on its Pro Trek smartwatch lineup. Yeah there seemed to be a very limited supply of GWF-D1000 watches in America as well. It’s not available on ShopCasio.com or Macys.com anymore, and we’re not seeing any discounted prices from third-party sellers. I think the GW7900B-1 is one of the best looking G-Shocks, but I recently bought a DW-5600BB-1 that has a reverse LCD display like the GW7900B-1 and I find it very difficult to read in low light.
