Casio’s Latest G

I’ve never had a problem with my G-Shock watches rusting from saltwater, but I was fishing and diving once or twice a week so it wasn’t constant exposure. The G-Shock Gulfman G9100 uses titanium parts and is officially rust-resistant g shock protection (it says “Rust Resist” on the band), and it has a tide graph. I think the tide graph can be useful but it gives limited information and does not predict the actual heights like a more comprehensive tide chart would.

Casio engineers also gave the G-Shock GA2100 a relatively clean dial that is about as bare as you can expect from a modern G-Shock product that has analog hands. The Casio quartz movement uses a combination of three analog hands and a smallish negative LCD display to offer all the various features that are the typical assortment you expect in most G-Shock products. The relative elegance of the overall watch, along with its Royal Oak-inspired case, actually makes for an excellent product that feels both fun and mature at the same time. In other words, this doesn’t feel like a kids’ watch at all.

Part of the new breed of large analog-digital G-Shock watches that revitalized the brand in the 2010s, the GA-100 is one of the best-selling models and has become a modern classic. The GA-100 series reaffirmed G-Shock’s status as an innovator of practical and fashionable timepieces. The GA-100-1A1 features a design inspired by an airplane’s instrument panel with high-contrast analog hands and an anti-magnetic structure. It also has an LCD display for functions like the stopwatch and countdown timer. Other features include an auto LED light, world time, and 5 daily alarms.

They usually stay charged to the maximum without having to leave it in the sun or under bright light, at least for the all-digital models. If you’re not going to wear it just leave it by a window and it should be okay. But I would say go with your first choice and then get your second choice later. No, the GWG-1000 does not have a carbon fiber insert band.

Go Rasta, denim or crystal, and you’ll have the 1980s on your wrist. Or, if you’re more into the 1990s, there’s a rave-inspired model with teal and purple, that decade’s favorite colorway. Or a khaki military inspired colorway, or…well, you get the idea. Thankfully, Casio seems to provide a steady supply of these less expensive models, so you can readily snag one.

I was wondering if you could recommend one other watch for my son that might be between the size of the dark gray GMA-S110CM-8A and a full size G-shock. A GMA-S110 from the S Series matches those requirements. It is about 30% smaller than a full-size G-Shock GA-110.

The key difference is that both of these watches – while packed with advanced workout features – are limited in terms of third-party app compatibility. The Fenix 6 supports apps downloaded via Garmin Connect IQ, and the Polar Flow app allows you to customize the widgets on your Grit X, you can’t download third-party tools. My favorite element, and one that was really surprising when I saw the watch with my own eyes, is the color of the gray used on the case and strap. You have to see it in person, but it has this texture to it that I’ve never seen on a G-Shock. And the most striking thing, I think, is that there isn’t any printing anywhere on the strap.

The Mudmaster is a serious analog-digital upgrade of the popular Mudman series. The Mudmaster resembles the beefy Rangeman combined with an analog watch, making it one of the best-looking tactical-style analog G-Shocks. It inherits the Rangeman’s guarded button structure and is resistant to mud and dust. Its analog movement is also resistant to extreme vibration. This “ABC” watch has the Triple Sensor that includes an altimeter, barometer, compass, and thermometer.

I’m not sure people would have expected a $180 watch with my name on it, but I think it’s really playful and inviting. In 1983, Casio launched the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch. This product shattered the notion that a watch is a fragile piece of jewelry that needs to be handled with care, and was the result of Casio engineers taking on the challenge of creating the world’s toughest watch. Using a triple protection design for the parts, module, and case, the Casio G SHOCK offered a radical new type of watch that was unaffected by strong impacts or shaking.

It also has most of the features I am looking for and costs less than $100. There are many other deserving models that had to be excluded from our Top 20 list below. There is really no such thing as a bad G-Shock, and it mainly boils down to personal preference. It’s slightly busier than the GA-400, and for this reason, Casio is pushing this as “Street Fashion”-oriented.
