What is very important – according to the manual -is that the opening to the triple sensor is kept free of dirt or in this case mud. Otherwise the G-Shock might not perform the way it should. New G-Shock GWG-1000 combines features of the Mudman and Rangeman with an analog/digital hybrid display and case design that looks like a cross between the Aviation series and Rangeman series. Judging by its look and amount of details put into the design of this watch, making it the best looking tough tactical analog-digital G-Shock. The watch features a very bright illumination technology „Super-Illuminator” as Casio calls it, that can be activated with the touch of a button.
I sincerely prefer the mineral glass over the sapphire crystal because of the way it behaves over time but that’s more of a personal opinion. The stainless steel resin case is of incredibly good quality and trust me it can be reliable for lots of years from the moment you buy it. The band material is a good-feeling resin that Casio pretty much used in all G-Shock with some exception, so nothing new here. The height of the resin layer is thick and it is followed by a brushed stainless steel layer that’s highlighted with the same stainless steel on top which runs adjacent to the buttons. This is yet another way Casio added a touch of class and refinement that also helps to the overall structure resistance. The final layer that comes with filled engravings is a stainless steel bezel and the smoothed outer layer structure has a matte finish.
Previous “Triple Sensor” watches had a compass, thermometer, and pressure sensors, which are used for barometer and altimeter readings. The fourth sensor in the Mudmaster’s “Quad Sensor” is an accelerometer which senses the acceleration of gravity the same way smartphones are able to detect directions, tilts, vibrations, etc. This is used in the Mudmaster to offer a step counter which can then share data with a smartphone via a bluetooth connection (activated by the button at 3 o’clock). The smartphone connection allows for other features as well, some more useful than others depending on the wearer’s needs. However, while you might think that anything that keeps out water would easily be able to prevent mud ingress as well, the small particles in mud and dust present challenges of their own.
When you hold the Mudmaster GG-B100 in your hand, you immediately want to start playing with it. That might have something to do with the six large, knurled-surface pushers around the case. The Mudmaster series is all about water/dust/mud protection, and the pushers have all been designed with that in mind. I really like having more versus fewer pushers on the case, as it means you can generally get to functionality faster.

The Maharishi x G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-1000MH-1A is the first GWG-1000-based collaboration watch. This late-2016 limited edition model is made in partnership with London clothing store Maharishi. Another factor that plays into its poor legibility is that this particular Mudmaster uses a negative display for the digital readout. It’s hard to use any of the functions during the day much less the night. and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Thanks to its rugged construction, you won’t have to worry about whether or not it will hold up. The G-Shock collection from Casio doesn’t need much of an introduction. It’s tough, durable, and made to handle virtually any harsh conditions you may subject it to. Inside the G-Shock collection, there is a watch for everyone.
