There is no sweep second hand and the analog hands are too short, IMHO, there are better G-Shocks. The illumination on the GA-100 models is for the analog dial only.

This year it was a watch with a surprisingly affordable watch. Not like any Casio is unaffordable, but given the rise in quality and prices in Citizen and Seiko, I was expecting some similar high-end stuff from Casio. Large contrast color pushers are easy to find and press, and the style of the strap is actually press nice. The resin materials the case is make out of are better than usual. Keep in mind this is all a matter of degree, not necessarily major issues. It’s entirely up to the buyer/owner to assess and prioritize. I think the GA-100-1A1 is a good looking and durable watch. Just be aware that the negative LCDs are hard to read in many types of light. The design is pretty basic in order to maintain a professional feel and offer great ease of use, coming with an all-black casing which creates a contrast with the white index hands and indicators. The two small digital displays can be configured for multiple functions like the stopwatch, world time, date, and so on, using the four configuration buttons on the side of the case. While you have the time in an analog fashion, you also have the ability to have the time digitally in the lower left digital LCD window.
